    PIONEER SX 522 -SHORTED channel.

Hi recently i got vsx 522 . the problem is one channel shorted, so i removed the shorted transisotr and i power up receiver worked except that channel .. then i descided to replace the b1560 shorted transistor. after replacing i power up ,,
but i got some fumes, when i checked amp board i saw ther is lead drops makes shorting of transisor a992 pins it cause blowing of some resistors and a992 transistors. Now i replaced all blown transistors and resisotrs but when i am power receier going to protection mode.. when i check what is the reason i found that dc volt presents in amplifier out ..in all channel. i dont know why.. i checked all transistors and diodes on the board all are fine.. still i cannot understand what causing dc volt in amp out . anyone can help me?

Here i am attaching service manual. actually the lead ball cause shortage of q437 transistor in SL amp channel. due to this q443 and q444 blown out also zenerdiod zd140 got shorting.then after that q417 and associated resistors blown

First of all, I'd like to mention that I'm a novice when it comes to laptop repair, although I do have some experience with soldering.
One day, my laptop experienced a severe stutter, and after rebooting, it failed to boot into Windows. I decided to disassemble it and found that the PL900 component was blown. Later, I came across a post (https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...error%E2%80%99) with the same problem, where...

      GYSMI 160p welder transistors shorted
      by vbogoev
      Hello,

Here I have GYSMI 160p welder with no output. Otherwise the machine is starting, the fan is spinning, but the output is zero... I disassembled the welder and found the problem. 3 out of 6 transistors are shorted, and 3 pairs of 4 resistors are burned... There's also 1 burned "ultra fast diod" on another board that is connected to the transformer. My question is how can I identify these burned resistors, I have no idea what value they should be, also I am not able to find any image of the board over the internet... The other part numbers are clearly visible, so I...

old X58 triple channel board... memtest86 memory speed?
      by eccerr0r
Anyone run memory speed tests with an old X58-based triple channel 1st gen or any other >2 channel board? The one I have is a Gigabyte I think.

Anyway I had four 4GB DDR3-1333 modules in the 6 memory slots and got around 11GB/sec memory speeds assuming that it went dual channel since it didn't have enough modules for triple channel. Now I stuck in two more 4GB modules, but they are DDR3-1600. I'm still getting 11GB/sec speeds according to memtest86...

Just wondering, anyone do memory speed analysis on these triple (and higher) channel memory boards? Are there any...

      Acer Alienware Nitro 5 (GH51G LA-L181P Rev: 1C) & Dell Alienware M15 (GDP50 LA-k452P Rev:1) - Both Shorted PCH (SRKMA)!
      by reessi
      Hello:

I have both these laptops that appeared to have the same fault so I thought I would have a go at replacing the PCH as something to learn, they both are using the same PCH.

      I started on the ACER:

Up on connecting power no signs of life but current is consumed from the bench power supply and the PCH is hot.
All the caps on the top of the PCH are showing 0 ohms and the 3.3v rail is shorted.

I followed the videos from Sorin, Electronics Repair School on Youtube heating from the bottom to install. I practised on around 10 scrap...

Reverse engineering of 18650 4-channel tester
      by spleenharvester
      Hi friends

I have reverse engineered this tester, schematic is attached and is complete except for capacitor values. These testers annoyingly have no model number but they are the ones you find on the first page of just about any website if you type in "18650 4-channel tester". There is also a 2-channel variant and a newer 8-channel variant. They are very cheap (about £15) and can measure voltage, current, internal resistance and capacity. They have a multicolour display for all these statistics. They also have terminal blocks so that if you want to use a breakout board...
