That is one of the symptoms covered under Onkyo Customer Care Extended Warranty. Find the page for your jurisdiction and fill out the form to see if it qualifies.

If it does Onkyo will replace the hdmi board free of charge.

Ah I didn't see you were in India. It is reported to be the TI dsp ic but I cannot say with certainty. Try heating the ic and see if the crackling noise goes away.

I will try to heat it.. dsp ic is d808 ,it is not BGA. Also ther any chance to get that noises due to A/d or d/a converter ics?

Re: onkyo tx sr 313 - crackling sound

The ic's fail due to manufacturing process not bga solder connections so the package is immaterial.

Denon AVR-X3600H No sound even to pre outs in direct analog mode. Help please!
                by FuzzyOwl
Hi, I have a Denon AVR-X3600H I'm trying to repair. I have no electronics repair experience but I have a multimeter, service manual and a will to fix it (https://device.report/m/d5de8c00e617...f63147aba9.pdf)

Everything seems to work except for no sound even through the pre outs. However I will get sound using Zone 2 pre outs.

Only digital symptom I can tell is it will soft lock when in the Speakers/Test Tone menu and be unable to adjust +/- db during the test tone.

I've followed the trouble shooting guide, audio check...

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
                by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

Onkyo HT-R390 no sound output, video output ok
                by FrancescoV
                Good morning everyone,
I'm trying to repair an onkyo ht-r390 that has no sound output, despite the volume being at maximum, the rest seems to work; the video output signal (coming from an hdmi input) is present, but the audio is absent. Similar situation if I send an audio signal from any input I have no output.

The firmware reported is the following:
                M:1.00/11107BLP
                D:?.??/????????
                O:1.00/11107AL

The DSP firmware given the question marks seems corrupt.

On the BCHDM-0678 - 25140678 - QPWBCHDM0678A0 board the chip that usually seems...

                Onkyo HT-R960 No Sound
                by platinumsteel
Hi guys hope you all doing fine.I have an Onkyo HT-R960 from my uncle that he says he powered it on one day and no sound at all.I took it to try and repair it.I am also using it as an opportunity to start learning how to repair units like these and also amplifiers. When i first brought it home I also realized it wasn't outputting any video and audio tru the HDMI Ports. So followed a youtube video on how to change 5 caps to get HDMI output back.Did exactly that and now i have Picture tru the HDMI Ports. But still no audio. Checked a lot of voltages according to the schematic and also visually nothing...
