Sony MHC-RG20 Mini hifi system.

I have changed the belt in the cd of this Sony MHC-RG20 but the timing is out
and the cd tray is closing but does not open.I have the service manual but this
manual does not mention this problem.Can anyone offer a solution for this problem?

check the switches that detect the position of the tray.

First try replacing the belt that drives the tray, common issue is for the belt to become loose and there is not enough force to push the tray open anymore.

i wonder if its worth sending this man a message through his youtube channel he seems to work on this sort of problem a lot on diffrent machines maybe he can offer some advice? no harm in asking
