Onkyo TX-SR504 no sounds from pre out/subwoofer

There is no sound coming from the pre out. I get sound on all the speakers, but nothing from the pre out. I don't do audio very often so could really use the help from someone who knows audio well.

What I want to know is where can I check to trace the pre out audio signal. Are there connectors I can check to trace the signal path?

    See service manual below.

Are you talking about SW out jack as shown in page one which is fed by Q5630A?

If you look up this model, it only has a Pre out sub woofer which can be switched on and off in the menu

So I tested for audio output with my scope and got audio coming out of the pre out rca jack. I had the customer bring his subwoofer in and we hooked it up. Still no sound. Found that he had the sub switch set on the off position lol. Switched it on and it worked fine.

Marian Trace Alpha sound card repair help
            by Christos Tsiligiannis
            Hello to the forum.

My name is Christos, I am new to the forum here and i am posting from Greece.

So i have this old German sound card from Marian, called Trace Alpha. To be exact i have 2 of them and i use them professionally for my small FM radio station here. The first one works like a charm, but the second one does not work at all.

To be more specific in the same exact pc with windows 7 (i even tried 32bit) the one works while the other doesn't.

So i tried asking for a schematic from the company and they would not give me one. Instead they...

Onkyo TX-NR609 Sound only on USB/Internet Radio/DLNA Input
            by Sushi1808
            Hi everyone!

I turn to you in hope someone could point me in the right direction since I lack knowledge and experience in diagnosis of audio equipment. (My experience is in computer chip level repairs.)

I bought an Onkyo TX-NR609 receiver which initially produced no sound on speakers/headphones, there was no delayed relay click, speaker matrix icon didn't show up, USB/NET stuck in "Now initializing", instead of DSP/1st NET firmware version there were ?????????...

            NHT SW10 Subwoofer no sound
            by redoxy
Unit was working then one day no sound with the unit humming when the power switch is in the off position. When I move the switch to the Auto or ON position, nothing happens, the humming stops but no sign of life (power LED was off). I opened the amplifier and noticed one of the main power 6800uF capacitors was bulging. I replaced both 6800uF capacitors and also replace the large resistors (R41 and R140) since they looked burned. The humming when power switch is in the off position was still present but the unit will power on now. Tried connecting signal to it but then no sound. When I move the...

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
            by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

Onkyo HT-R390 no sound output, video output ok
            by FrancescoV
            Good morning everyone,
I'm trying to repair an onkyo ht-r390 that has no sound output, despite the volume being at maximum, the rest seems to work; the video output signal (coming from an hdmi input) is present, but the audio is absent. Similar situation if I send an audio signal from any input I have no output.

The firmware reported is the following:
            M:1.00/11107BLP
            D:?.??/????????
            O:1.00/11107AL

The DSP firmware given the question marks seems corrupt.

On the BCHDM-0678 - 25140678 - QPWBCHDM0678A0 board the chip that usually seems...
