LG XB64 (XB64-D0U) repair, no sound, turns off after a few seconds (fixed)

This cheap LG audio/DVD set turns off by itself after a few seconds of powering on. No sound from speakers in any function (it's possible to switch function while it's on). No DVD mechanism activity.

Voltages check: only +9V is missing. Actually, +9V line is short at Main PCB. This explains absence of DVD mechanical activity. Since I have records of shorted caps in these crappy sets, I begin checking all caps that are in contact with +9V (ACC9V in schematics). Extract [C15] and it's innocent. Extract [C526], same. Extract [C61] (100uF/16V) and it's shorted!!

After replacing it I reassemble and try the set. Now it reads CD/DVD but there's still no sound at all!! It's a TDA7292 based amp. Mute line (A_MUTE) seems OK (0V on play, 2,5V when muting). Audio reaches pins 7 and 11 of TDA7292, but its pin 5 is = +VCC, so this means mute. Should be lower (about 10V) in order to be active.

Check diodes and caps from mute circuit and, OMFG, [CE706] (220uF/35V) is shorted too!! Both caps are in different boards, different brands, different values, but same crappiness. Replace it and fixed.

Note that actual cap values doesn't match the ones stated in SM.

Edit: I attach Service Manual PDF, since it's not available at ElektroTanya, and I doubt that Pihe will accept it since he rejects anything that says «Confidential», «Internal use only», etc.

Hi! I have the same issue, (well not exactly the same but just no sound, the rest working perfectly) and I replaced electrolytic capacitor [CE706] (220uF/35V) that was in short and all working just fine!
    Perfect job amigo!
    Thank you very much!

Lenovo Legion 5 high fan spin turns off after 34 seconds
      by twonk9098
      Hi all,

I have a Lenovo Legion 5 with a Ryzen 7 series CPU and RTX 3070 GPU. My issue is that it turns on and all seems fine except after a few seconds the fans spin up high and the laptop turns off after 34 seconds.
I can get into bios and can even boot and login to Windows however after 34 seconds no matter if Im at the bios screen or booted into Windows it will just turn off.

I have managed to run HWmonitor and the temperatures of the CPU and GPU are fine, I can also touch the heatsync which is warm but not hot.

I have tried a few new bios but exactly...

LG 23MP55HQ LED Monitor turns off after a few seconds or flickers.
      by Rick_1234
      Good evening, gentlemen.

I have a problem with my monitor. It turns off after a few seconds or flickers. Shining a flashlight on the screen doesn't show any image, so I guess it's not the "2 seconds to dark" I read in the forum.

To turn it back on, I have to press the power button twice. Then after a few seconds it turns off again or flickers. See video.

      Hello everyone,
I need help with my Lenovo Legion laptop. It turns on for a few seconds and then immediately shuts down. I believe this is a BIOS corruption issue.

      • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070
      • Main BIOS chip size: 32MB
      • VBIOS chip size: 16MB
Problem Description: The laptop was working perfectly. Now, when I press the power button, the keyboard lights up and the laptop powers on for just a few seconds, then it shuts itself off completely. After researching, I am convinced it's a corrupt BIOS.

Not heat related, everything is ok regarding to that.
      All voltages are present.
Wondering if this as anything to do with one wire circuit, the charger is not original, but it was working fine
