I got a Denon AVR 486 that had water accidentally spilled in the unit. It is completely dead, no standby or any display. Anyone have experience with denon receivers with no power.

by double_DDHi all,
As the title suggests, how can I be sure that my EC chip is really dead?
I've recently gotten into this hobby of laptop repairs, and have successfully brought back to life a couple with some easy fixes, mostly shorted caps.
Now I'm working on HP Probook 455 G8, that had some "devil" run around on 3V line, burning a bunch of stuff. Luckily I have a dead 455G7 (for spare parts) so I managed to fix it (swapped burned parts) to a point that it will charge (both on barrel jack and usb-c), but it doesn't want to turn on. There is a 3V3 on a keyboard... -
by ngmlI am trying to repair an LG split AC indoor unit, which does not start and gives a CH05 error code.
This indicates an error in the communication between the outdoor and the indoor unit.
The outdoor unit is fine, so the problem is the indoor PCB.
The indoor unit is an LG PC09SQ NSJ (3SNM09JA2FA), and the PCB has the following type number: EAX35907219-1.2 (see photo1)
I changed optocouplers ICO1X & ICO2X and the NPN transistor S9013 which drives optocoupler ICO2X (see photo2), but this did not remedy the fault.
Does anybody have the schematics of this board,...2 Photos02-01-2025, 12:55 PM -
by Data45000Hi there,
I just wanted to watch another episode of Luficer last night and had turned on my AVR with the FireStick.
Suddenly I heard a dull bang. "Poof"
I noticed that several HDMI inputs no longer work at all. Some only work when a PC signal is present or only one signal on the whole input side.
Often the picture goes black or it jerks up and down as if the signal is present briefly, but then disconnects in a loop.
However, the front HDMI works perfectly...
Would anyone have an idea what is defective here...-

by CoinCoin88Hello everyone,
I'm turning to the Badcaps community to help me troubleshoot the radio Rx card from my (old) garage door opener. While I could just ditch that card and replace the whole system, I first would like to understand "why" it suddenly stopped working, because that's just how I am wired...!
Some basics: the receiver works on a 30.875 Mhz frequency. Yes, I'm aware this is not in use anymore in a looot of places. It does not use any rolling code, it's just a regular dip-switch code that you have to set up on both the receiver and transmitter. The receiver... - Loading...
