coils fail, usually where they solder to the terminal.

The TX-NR414s and 515s suffer horrifically with O/C coils. I must've done 50-100 414s with a dead relay. It's not limited to these models either - seen it across the range.

Must have been a bad production run.

Darn, why didn’t I search this thread before messing for hours with an Onkyo TX-NR414 that wasn’t powering on, with irregular clicking relay???

It’s been the relay RL9001 too! A Tyco Electronics SDT-S-109LMR2 (9VDC coil). It wasn’t open, because it clicked, but wouldn’t stay on. Very intermitent. I’ve opened the relay and I haven’t seen anything suspicious. I’ve replaced it with a scrapped Massuse ME-7-009-HL.

I’ve fixed many relays with bad contacts, but this is the first time I see a coil failure like this.

Roland SPA-120 Amplifier Tech Notes / SM / Schematic Source?
          by KeyResults
Repairing a Roland SPA-120 amplifier, a solid-state early-mid 80's part of the Roland Rack. The PCB is Labled AP-124B. Was thinking lytics would resolve the nasty output on scope but all tested 100% for values, ESR, and leakage (very surprised!). Symptom is nasty wave form on both channels in Stereo mode, but clean in single channel mono (BTL) mode. The Output transistors test ok at room temp, but still could be faulty once heated up. Anyway, a schematic and some test point voltages would sure save some time. Thx!

JTC B-28 Cardmp3 player amplifier Schematic
          by Billcliffens
I'm trying to troubleshoot a JTC B-28 Cardmp3player amplifier which had a power supply failure. I've replaced the damaged str transistor with a 3wire power module and now it's powering up fine but it has very low and poor quality audio output.
A schematic of this 12vDC/220vAC Power amplifier will be of great help.

          Onkyo grand integra schematic!
          by Tom_x
          Hi friends!

I'm looking for schematic diagram for Onkyo grand integra A-G10 (A-8890)

speaker relays not activated, maybe protection circuit blocking.
If i power on for a minute, and power off and on again, speaker relays activated and unit working.

          thx

Running out of Ideas, hoping someone smart can provide some for my ONKYO TX-SR353 Receiver
          by CDNBrewer
          Hello Everyone,

I have an Onkyo TX-SR353 Audio/Video Receiver (5.1 ch with HDMI) that I am having a really hard time diagnosing and I'm about to throw this in the junk and go buy a new unit that is on sale until the 7th.

          Symptoms:
          • Intermittent (part of the reason why i'm having a hard time isolating problem), sometimes will work for 10+h at a time without issue
          • Original symptom was wife reported loud banging noise (like someone was banging on the wall with their fists) from the LEFT SURROUND speaker and then the unit shut off.
          • I swapped the Left and Right surround
          ...

Schematic vs. Reality: Where Are the Resistors on My Sharp Clock Radio? Model FY-70CH
          by TinkerTron
          Hey everyone,

I'm currently working on a mid-70s Sharp Electronic Digital Clock Radio, Model FY-70CH. I found the service manual online, printed it out, and have been studying it for a while. My main reasons for tackling this are: (1) I want to learn electronics and figured I'd start with something I had on hand, and (2) I want to fix its issues. Right now, the radio sounds awful, has about 5V DC at the speaker terminals, and the alarm time setting doesn't work. But I'm not asking how to fix these problems.

Instead, here's what's been bugging me so far:
          The schematic...
