Hello
I have since a long time a Philips HTS8010S/01 which has been old but was doing the job.
Since a few days, it starts by making a weird "static" nois when switches on for a few seconds to a minute and then works like a charm.
Noise loudly outputs from the 3 channels, even if no signal is sent by the controler.DVD to the subwoofer/amp unit.
I was thinking of a soldering that was starting to be damaged and that was only doing the job after a few seconds of heating, most probbaly on the power board
Removed each of tyhe boards
- power sypply
- amplifier
- dolby
- interface
- HP connection
Inspection did not give any clues , just the two transistors on the power board that were s it suspiscious on the soldering.
I made a few resoldering, but no luck.
The problem is then much more complex and i need some advices on how to isolate the problem.
My first idea was that it comes from the power board.
Noise is only present if I switch the central control/DVD unit. If I unplug it from the bass/amplifier box, the noise continues.
This makes me feel that the issue is in the subwoofer that contains the power board, the amplifier and the DSP/dloby board.
And I was suspecting the power board as the noise is there even with no signal on the input.
I've attached pictures of the power board
I can send schematics if it helps
Any idea where to start from ?
Many thanks
JM
