Need help identifying an IC chip on a Bush DAB radio (BD-1801)

    Hi,

Not sure whether anyone can help but I'm trying to identify the IC chip in the photo below.

I purchased a faulty Bush DAB radio (model # BD-1801) and identified that an IC chip was blown on it. Unfortunately, I couldn't read the manufacturer name / model number of the IC chip.

I purchased another (working) BD-1801 so that I could open it up to find out the IC details - but the IC chip details are missing (as you can see in the photo.)

Given the two huge blobs of solder either side of it I'm guessing it regulates power(?)

    Anyone got any clues please?

    Thanks

    thats got paint on it.
    clean it with acetone.
the ground pads make me think it may be a 9pin device with a pad under it.

btw DAB is shit - i dont know why people buy into it.
if you scan the DAB signals with an sdr reciever you find the data rates are so low it's hard to belive it's even understandable.
32k or less for most channels.

Think I've got it... Not easy to read, but I think it's 8871E. Thanks very much.
