    RCA to 5Pin DIN issue

Hey folks. I have a Rotel receiver/tuner from the 70s and a set of Wharfedale Glendale 3XP Speakers that Im rigging up at home at the moment. wired everything up and the tuner is working perfect with the speakers. However my turntable is a Numark and its only output is Phono/RCA ( I dunno what the proper term is) The receiver only has 5PinDIN in so I went to maplin to get some adapters.
They didnt have an all in one solution so I bought a female stereo quarter inch jack to male 5 PinDIN. Then a female RCA/PHONO to male stereo quarter jack out. Plug the two together and grand, it looks good. Plugged the turntable in and for some reason its only coming out the left channel.
Then I used a DJ mixer I had floating around as a go between just in case but the exact same thing happened. Just one channel coming out.
Any ideas or is there a better way to get from RCA/PHONO to 5PinDIN that will give me both channels?

Ive attached some pictures so that might help!
I am a complete newbie to all of these but I hope to learn!

Re: RCA to 5Pin DIN issue

The only thing I can say is that there are two different types of din plugs. They look alike but are not wired up the same. A European type and an american type. I've heard of people having trouble because of it before although I have no experience of it myself. Perhaps since the RCA jacks are american, the din plug is american style as well on that adapter and the other adapter is the european din.

You can find out which pins are the hot pins (signal pin) for the Left and Right channel by doing this:
Set the volume to less than 1/4 up.
Get a paper clip that will fit into the Din receptacle socket.
Touch the screw head or the metal part of the receiver first to discharge the static, then insert the paper clip into the Din socket one at a time, when you touch the hot pin, you should hear 50 cycle hum from one of the speakers.
It should have one more pin that will do the same thing for the other channel of the speaker. Mark those two sockets to match the left and right of the hot pins.
Then you use Ohm meter to find out the ground pins, you will do this with the receiver off, by checking for <1 Ohm between the chassis screw and the remaining pins which should be ground.
If the phono pre-amps are OK, then you should hear the hums from each speaker.

Dunno if this will help (maybe if you want to make up a lead from scratch?):

Numark TT500 Turntable...weird power "freezing" issue
          by Soma89
          Hello there,
I have a TT500 dj turntable that sometimes "freezes" upon powering on. This means that it lights up as normal, but does not react when pressing the play button (to turn the platter) or adjusting any settings through the push buttons or even move the slider/fader control; it just freezes in place with its default settings.

To get the turntable working normally again, I simply power off and on the turntable again and it usually boots up normally the second or third time around.

The manufacturer is unable to provide me with a service manual....

MacBook Air A2337 (820-02016) USB-C Port Issue – Only Works in One Orientation (CC Line Problem?)
          by rounin
          Hi everyone,

I'm working on a MacBook Air 2020 (A2337, board 820-02016) and running into a strange USB-C issue. I've gone through quite a bit of testing and part replacement, but I'm stuck — hoping someone here can shed some light.

          🛠 Original Issue
          The machine initially wouldn't negotiate 20V over USB-C — stuck at 5V.
Diagnosis showed PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE shorted to ground.

I replaced U3100 (UF400) using a donor board (A2179), and the machine powers on fine now.

Three 820-01700 32GB Logic Boards Same Issue: Won't Wake From Hibernate
          by ugamazing
I have three identical-spec 820-01700 boards (2.6/32/512), and ALL THREE boards came to us with the same fault, from different sources: The boards don't wake from hibernation with the keyboard or lid, they ONLY wake when you press the power button. I understand this is a very minor issue, but the boards must be fixed!

We will of course begin with the obvious (checking lid signals), but I couldn't help but notice these three boards were all 32GB variants. Has anyone noticed an issue relating to these 32GB boards in particular? I of course don't think it's a RAM issue, but it's bizarre...

          Hello guys!
I have a strange issue with my laptop keyboard and I'm lost trying to detect what's wrong - the KB9028Q-C or the keyboard itself.
It powers on OK and has no other issues except the following:
          • CAPS LOCK does not work at all
          • Fn button toggles Flight Mode
          • When I press 't' or '5', it produces 't5', and when I press 'y' or '6', it produces 'y6'
          • (with SHIFT pressed: 't%' and 'y^' respectively)
I initially thought it was a keyboard malfunction (internal short, etc.),
but when I press and hold...

Alienware 15 R2 Service Tag: DL7NN32 ISSUE (Battery is not charging)
          by Simone Vergani
          Hello everyone,

I'm experiencing an issue with my Alienware 15 R2 (Service Tag: DL7NN32). The laptop works perfectly when connected to the AC adapter — it powers on and functions normally. However, the battery does not charge. If I disconnect the DC adapter, the laptop shuts down immediately, as the battery is at 0%. I have replaced the battery with a new compatible one, but the issue persists. I also replaced the AC adapter with a compatible one, but the battery still doesn't charge.

To assist with troubleshooting, I'm attaching two power circuit schematics:
