I admit that the music was quite loud, but not so loud to damage the speakers.
Suddenly I heard some major distortion from the sub and I decided to take out the cover to examine the subwoofer speakers. The "paper" actually fell of the speakers in a ring shape. Touching the paper it is dissolving like it is 50 years old!
How that happened? Is it possible to fix them? Are there replacements?

. He repaired them himself with some fake leather material IIRC. That was some 15 years ago. I was a kid and I barely remember. They still work great to this day, though. And FYI, my dad didn't spend much effort on them, so this is probably something you could do yourself. I think I might have a picture of them somewhere on one of my computers. Will have to look.
