Gigaworks S750 7.1 crackling and cutting out on ONE channel

I'm about to crack this beast open, and was wondering what parts I should be suspecting that would cause crackling and cut-out on the front right channel only.

Bonus, it happens even when headphones are plugged in and the relay has shut off the main amp by relay (so it could be an opamp or something small).

    Bad Caps: http://i.imgur.com/QYlLo.jpg

do I just replace the bad ones or all of them?

Also any caps that people recommend?

(the 2 closest to the camera are very bulged, the 2 further away appear fine).

Most importantly: would this create cut on in ONLY ONE channel?

If 2 have failed, the other 2 are likely on the edge as well but not just showing it yet. Therefore replace all of them. CapXon has a bad reputation on these forums, so it's a good idea anyways.

Before replacing them, however, I do have a question - what circuit are these caps part of? Are they just filtering the line voltage on the primary side of the PSU? And if so, is there a PFC circuit? (If you're not sure, post some pictures.)
Reason I'm asking is because it is usually rare for high voltage caps to fail, even from inferior brands.

As for replacements, just match the capacitance (uF) and voltage (V) ratings (these are high voltage caps so you don't need to worry about ESR). You can go higher with the voltage rating if you like (next common standard rating is 250V). Also, make sure the replacement caps will fit on your board and that they are rated for 105C.

If you're in the USA, digikey.com and mouser.com are good places to buy the replacements.

It's possible. Depends on what those bulged caps do in the circuit.

If you have more CapXon caps in the PSU, now would be a good time to replace those as well (might as well since you're already paying for the shipping with the big caps. Besides, the small low-voltage caps are cheap anyways). The ones on the secondary side of the PSU should be low ESR, though, so for those, also post the series (usually 2 or 3 letters written on the caps, like "KM", "KF", etc.).

momaka, he posted more pictures about this amplifier here:

        https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=18136

Based on the pictures there, it looks to me more like bad soldering and loosened screws.

old X58 triple channel board... memtest86 memory speed?
          by eccerr0r
Anyone run memory speed tests with an old X58-based triple channel 1st gen or any other >2 channel board? The one I have is a Gigabyte I think.

Anyway I had four 4GB DDR3-1333 modules in the 6 memory slots and got around 11GB/sec memory speeds assuming that it went dual channel since it didn't have enough modules for triple channel. Now I stuck in two more 4GB modules, but they are DDR3-1600. I'm still getting 11GB/sec speeds according to memtest86...

Just wondering, anyone do memory speed analysis on these triple (and higher) channel memory boards? Are there any...

Yamaha XP7000 Crackling in left channel
          by xfreakx
          Hi guys,

I have a problem with the power amplifier Yamaha XP700, I hope someone can help or point me in a direction.

The amp started occasionally to crackle in the left channel which in a short time period got more frequent and after a while the crackling occurred instantly on power on.
While checking for loose connections the amp's protection kicked in and turned the amp off. From then the protection turned the amp off in between 1 - 5 seconds after power on.

I switched the mono blocks for a test to make sure the error is in the block itself...

Reverse engineering of 18650 4-channel tester
          by spleenharvester
          Hi friends

I have reverse engineered this tester, schematic is attached and is complete except for capacitor values. These testers annoyingly have no model number but they are the ones you find on the first page of just about any website if you type in "18650 4-channel tester". There is also a 2-channel variant and a newer 8-channel variant. They are very cheap (about £15) and can measure voltage, current, internal resistance and capacity. They have a multicolour display for all these statistics. They also have terminal blocks so that if you want to use a breakout board...

American Audio VLP1500 Distorting on one channel
          by dicky96
Hi guys I have a VLP1500 amplifier here - one channels works fine and the other channel distorts even at low volume settings

Protection and Clip LED are off

There is something wrong with the BIAS voltages around T16 and T18 (in particular) on the bad channel

I tested all diodes and transistors in this area in circuit with diode mode - both channels seem identical. Same in resistance mode across all the resistors here.

The output DC voltages on pin1 and pin8 of the 5532D dual op amp at the input of each amplifier module are the same, and the audio...

          Hitachi V19B01922 Channel Tune problem
          by dicky96
          Hi Guys
I have a customer who has two Hitachi TVs in his bar, one is the model in the thread title and the other is a larger screen but has the same setup menu

He also has an LG TV, so three screens in the bar

          I installed three Satlink ST-6503 DVB-T Modulators
          This model https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32916553905.html

These connect to three satellite receivers via HDMI cables and then connect to a 4 way RF Amp that connects to the TVs on aerial cable. There is no incoming terrestrial antenna. I set the channel ID on the modulators to...
