Altec Lansing MX5021 Very weak bass

Hi As mentioned, been using this for almost a year and recently it had a very weak bass / dying on this Altec Lansing Subwoofer,
tried fiddling with the control pod but still stuck in a faint bass.

other satellite speakers were working fine. i had tested the subwoofer, by dismantling and placed it with another same system and it works fine.

any where shd i start to look out on where it fails?

btw the caps, no bloats no leaks

Clue us in here. The satellite speakers are powered from the main amplifier, are they not? So the fact that they work is irrelevant to whether the subwoofer works.

The subwoofer has a built in amplifier. You need to troubleshoot that unit beginning with the power supply voltages, looking for obvious signs such as burned, overheated parts, loose connections and so on. Then you can proceed to the next step. List power supply voltages...
      Is it plugged in?

Help with replacing Capacitors on Altec Lansing ATP 3
        by yuzupatogik
        Hello,
I have this old (2004?) Altec Lansing ATP3 and i would like to replace the capacitors. I have identified 34 out of the 36 of them as Samxon GR of various capacities and voltages.

I can't find datasheets for the Samxon in any of the following variants:

10000uF 25 v - this one i really want to replace because i suspect it is what causes a dull hum regardless of the volume knob position or if the source is plugged in. I am eyeballing the Rubycon 25PK10000MEFCGC18X35.5 for this purpose. So if i pay a 10x the price part for shipping i might as well go ahead and...

Amplifier - bad sound when loud sound on bass
        by eduaqa
I'n trying to fix a M&S SYSTEM DMC-1which have following problem:
I'm using FM station to do this fix, I works perfect if volume below around 8 or if bass is set to zero, the sound can go to 20 without problem, but if I set bass to maximum and try to go over 10 the sound comes distorted ... I saw a video on YouTube the person saying about the main capacitors on the power portion, but I disconnect the main transformer and inject direct to the capacitors PINs my bench power supply -23v 0v +23v, but still distorted so I think the problem is not the capacitor neither the transformer...

RCA WHP141 wireless headphones wired up
        by momaka
OK, this one dates back to 2015! I thought I had posted this, but realized I didn’t when I posted a picture of something else. So here it goes…

Back in 2015, I bought a pair of RCA WHP141 wireless headphones at Micro Center for $2. I even mentioned it in the best cheap/free scores thread right here. Just forgot to follow up with that.

As mentioned back then, these are (were) 900 MHz FM wireless headphones. No modern day Blutooth or anything like that. I knew they wouldn’t be great headphones or even that good… but the price was right! So let’s take...

Telefunken L70 speakers, one has a nasal sound with less bass
        by Zonzi
        Hi everyone !

Once again I have an issue with old stuff I found for cheap, guess I have a taste for these.

I bought these two Telefunken L70 speakers for 20€ (https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/telefu...r_box_l_2.html), and they are in a superb state, component-wise. The box is scratched but I couldn't care less, I'm interested by whether it works or not.

They do work, and have a really nice sound, but one of the two has a problem with its 8" woofer. It's got practically no bass, and the mids are really pushed...

I need an answer to how to amplify my WiFi signal because it is so weak outside
        by sam_sam_sam
I have a really bad situation right with a very weak WiFi signal outside of the house and I have been told that I can not have two routers on my modem because it cause issues so what is the solution for this issue

I can fix the garage door opener with a cat5 cable to device modem or at least that is what I call it and it works very well so far but by doing this I have no router in the garage and no WiFi signal inside the garage unless the door is open but it is extremely weak if not at all

The MyQ cameras can NOT hookup to a cell phone hotspot I have tried it need...
