You are correct. I just looked again at the L110 and C176. At that section , they are seperated better and can see that 102j is for the cap value. I saw the 183 on the inductor in the pic, but I read the 102j at the lower location which is squeezed. Should have put my magnifier visor on. haha. I had it blown up to 400%. The old eyes aren't what they used to be. Good catch.Comment

ok I think I understand now, and the K signifies 10%. I found something in Mouser that kind of looks like the same piece but slightly bigger. Would this do?

Forgot to ask about the maximum DC current. Do I need to worry about that parameter. The part I picked has a max. of 35 mAmps. Is this a typical value for this application?

Thanks everyone! especially Steve2 and Tudedude for the schematic and identifying the right part and function. I got the components today. They were a little bigger in size to the broken one but the lead spacing was the same. Removed the wire, and the other coil, popped these in, and the sound is great!! The stereo was always working as Tudedude had explained indirectly. It was an operator error in pressing the FM Mute Mono button. Looking forward to my next challenge

Hello,
I have a problem with my Onkyo TX-8050 Receiver. I got it from aftermarket and it was just delivered today.
It doesn't play music. There is no real output from:
pre-out
amp-out A and B
phones out
The only real sound I hear is a humming from the speakers when I play a song from usb or select a analog source. And when stopping and starting songs from usb or switching sources, I hear a crack from the speakers.
I tested with analog-input, usb and radio.

I'm trying to repair an onkyo ht-r390 that has no sound output, despite the volume being at maximum, the rest seems to work; the video output signal (coming from an hdmi input) is present, but the audio is absent. Similar situation if I send an audio signal from any input I have no output.
The firmware reported is the following:

D:?.??/????????
O:1.00/11107AL
The DSP firmware given the question marks seems corrupt.

Anthem MRX500 - no sound
Dear Electronics Experts:
I have the following problem I am trying to troubleshoot. Unfortunately, I have contacted Anthem themselves and even a local distributer but I am not having much luck. Also, I have scoured the internet and unable to obtain a service manual. The Anthem service rep has also replied that he is unable to provide me with any service documentation. I have performed numerous searches on the internet and cross-referenced a few other AV receiver makers (Denon, Marantz, Onkyo) and found certain similarities to block diagram... -
I have an onyko 919. It has a hum problem at cold start which eventually dies / goes quiet. I have been "chasing" it for a while. Tightening ground screws and checking a few places. Basically, the problem is in the "back half" of the unit.... that is, if I take the sound out of the "pre-out" and feed it to a stand alone amp, it is good. If I feed in a signal at the external decoder input and play thru the back end of the onkyo, it has the hum.
Anyway, along the way (the chase), a number of components (resistors, capacitors, etc) on the main board... -
First off I would like to thank this community as it has provided me with great information that has helped me greatly on my repair for this Marantz SR5012 AV receiver. I am creating this new thread as the other 2 that I have created here has had their original question/problem solved and I plan that this is the final thread on my repair. Please note that this is my first time repairing audio amplifiers so I may not be aware of common issues and things to know.
