Technics SA-EX310 dead...no sound, no display

    Hi:

I am trying to bring back to live this amplifier. So far I see that main transformer doesn't receive 220V. It doesn't receive voltage because relé is not activated and doesn't close the main AC circuit to the transformer. (It's not activated because Base of transistor is not excited.......base is connected to pin2 that comes from the main PCB)

Between pin 1&3 I am getting 6.3V, which seem correct......is this the "standby" for the PCB?

Pin 2.....the one connected to base is tagged as "relay". So as soon as it gets the right voltage, the relé will receive about 21V dc....... and then all voltages should be present in the PCB. (that's my analysis that maybe is wrong).

What's the part that triggers this pin2?

Is it this part? (don't see it conneceted to the connector, but it says "relay"..)

    Regards,
    Francesc.

This relay starts (gives a command) the microcontroller U901 (25 pin).

Rely control is by U91, pin 25 (noted by lotas)
Also locate Q902 and check if you have 5.1 volts on emitter and collector. (page26)

Do you get voltage on the power button? If yes make a temporary short to try to start the Amp. During my time with Panasonic I saw switches going bad a lot. Also on this unit the fan and the power amps are the weak parts( not related to your present issue though)

          Hi:

Pin 25 in the microcontroller has 5.1V.
Both Collector and emitter in Q902 have 5.1V
In the power boton PCB, there is also 5V. As soon as you click the power boton it goes to 0 for a second, so I foresee some kind of trigger there.

I will disassemble front panel in the meantime.......to see if I visualise something wrong there.
What do you think about injecting voltage in the Q751 Base to power up everything? (or shortten C-E)

          Regards,
          Francesc

Is there 5v on the Q751 base?

              Yeap!!! it's fixed...........it had "nothing".
Desassembled front panel. Cleaned PCB and connectors with isopropanol and came back to life.

I will be testing it to see if everything is ok.

              Regards,
              Francesc.

Before cleaning...........base had 0V. Now it has the voltage you mention.

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
                    by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

                    by LEECH666
                    Good day ladies and gentleman!

I am currently trying to repair a Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB LCD TV for a friend that has a weird audio problem. Basically everything works fine except for the heavily distorted sound when the Subwoofer module is connected and there is a buzzing sound coming from the PSU PCB.

This seems to be a rather rare TV so there is not much prior on topic help to be found however a service manual is available at the usual sources (Electro Tanya i.e.).

I think the PSU buzzing comes from one of the coils near the bridge rectifier but...

Marian Trace Alpha sound card repair help
                    by Christos Tsiligiannis
                    Hello to the forum.

My name is Christos, I am new to the forum here and i am posting from Greece.

So i have this old German sound card from Marian, called Trace Alpha. To be exact i have 2 of them and i use them professionally for my small FM radio station here. The first one works like a charm, but the second one does not work at all.

To be more specific in the same exact pc with windows 7 (i even tried 32bit) the one works while the other doesn't.

So i tried asking for a schematic from the company and they would not give me one. Instead they...

Technics SL-PG420A.CDM4/19 whining sound with CD-R
                    by Xenon-Codex
It works but a loud whine appears with CD-R discs, but only in the middle of the disc, beginning and the end are silent. Silver cd's do not whine.
It's still present with a different clamp. The player is Technics SL-PG420A. Blue capacitor in the laser circuit is replaced already.
