    SubZero SZ-PMIX8-MP powered mixer

Hi... trying to fix my sons SubZero SZ-PMIX8-MP powered mixer.... Initial fault turned out to be output amplifier TDA7293... but I've replaced a couple of times, and just generating more smoke!!... Can't find any fault on the power module, starting to wonder if its the mixer sending faulty voltages? So, the question.. Anyone know where I can find schematics for this unit... Google search hasn't uncovered anything obvious. thx

Hmm… my guess is either your signal output is shorted or VS plus or VS negative is way out of spec.

check the speakers and cables first . and be sure to not turn up the volume to clipping levels .

thanks... I get some strange readings on the voltage regulators, but assumed that was my measurement technique... so I'll have another go at measuring (or replacing) them...

sorry for 'newbie' question... but I don't have the cables/speakers attached... I assumed (dangerous, I know!) that with no speakers, it should pull no current?

Apply the signal from the tone generator to the audio input.
You can do it, for example, from a laptop or phone. You will get a constant output that you can measure.
Then a multimeter for ac voltage and write what you get on both channels. The mixer must of course be turned on, and speakers do not need to be connected.
Inside the circuit the're DC voltages to power the audio path. Voltage regulators should be measured on the dc voltage setting.

thanks for the help... problem solved... seems that trying to re-use the mica insulating pieces for the amplifier wasn't the right choice... one set of insulators & new amplifiers later and all is back up and running

Hi, I realise this is an old topic but does anyone have a circuit diagram for the SUBZERO PMIX8 ?? ..... got one that keeps just cutting out.
                Cheers, Kevin.
