    Honeywell Accenta G3 tamper alarm

This house has a Honeywell Accenta G3 alarm system. If the main unit loses power for any reason, the external siren sounds - even if the alarm is not even armed! Entering the code to disarm it is not an option as the keypads are completely dead when the power is out.

I presume this means the backup battery inside the box has failed, but I can't get in there and replace it without also setting off a tamper alarm! Is there any way to disable the tamper alarm so that electrical work can be carried out with the power off? Or a way to replace the backup battery without setting off the alarm?
You know there's something wrong when you open your PC and it has vented Rubycons...

If the alarm panel sounds an alarm while power is off, there must be a battery somewhere in order to sound the alarm.

Tamper fault puts the unit into lockout and the keypad acts dead until that fault is cleared, only by entering User Code then Engineer Code. If that has been changed from default 9999 then only choice is phone the alarm company that knows it, or blow out the entire program back to factory defaults.

I'd be tempted to disconnect the siren, yes it's another tamper fault event but at least then you can check/replace the battery.

Yes, that means the backup battery in the main unit is dead. I had the same problem a few years ago. What I found is that duct tape over the siren will quiet it down enough for it to not irritate the neighbors while you replace the battery in the main system.

Does anyone know about 16x2 LCD screens used in alarm keypads?
              by Ady2017
I have got an old Gardtec GT595 alarm which has got a faulty keypad with a failed LCD screen. This was apparently a very common problem with these and many people have had to replace the whole alarm because of this problem. Somebody claims to be able to repair the keypads by replacing the screen and I have tried it myself by replacing the LCD with a commonly available HD44780 1602 16x2 Serial LCD screen but it is not working. I am sure it is a problem with a driver or simular which is not allowing the screen to talk to the rest of the electronics. Does anyone know what this original screen was...

              Alarm Siren issue
              by slybunda
Apologies if this is in the wrong section but being a car alarm siren that makes noise i thought it be best to put it in the audio section.
Had weird alarm issues where siren made a strange noise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjsqndhionU
took siren out of the car and checked it out and pics attached seem to be the source of the issue.
shockingly the alarm still makes its normal sound if i trigger it manually so speaker seems to be intact.
getting a replacement is gonna be next to impossible, its a Toad Ai606 which is no longer in production and cant see to find a replacement...

              Fishing bite alarm drains battery
              by Mcfeetroy
Good day to all. The bite alarm drains 9-volt Krona batteries. Current consumption when switched on is about 50 mA. I wiped the board from oxides, I will attach a photo (on the board there is a j3y transistor and a 7533 stabilizer, the microcircuit is erased = (the 3.3-volt stabilizer heats up weakly. I replaced it, nothing changed. I unsoldered the microcircuit, the consumption disappeared. The resistance on the pins of the unsoldered microcircuit from the point clockwise is more than 2 megaohms, the 11th leg is presumably ground. I warmed up the microcircuit, the consumption does not change....

Philips TV 43pus7505 setting display option code, help please.
              by eurgenca
              Hello.
I am dealing with a Philips TV, 43pus7505 and is stuck on boot loop.
So I ordered a used CPU board, and now I have wired picture.
I think the problem lies in display option code. According to SM, the command for setting
display code is 062598 + MENU + 032 (032 is written on a label on back of a TV).
But as soon I press the menu button TV jumps in menu. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong,
or can I manually edit option code in SAM.
