OK. The resistor color code appears to be -
brown
black
silver
gold
But the problem is you can't have two tolerance values on a resistor as denoted by silver and gold. So the "silver" looking band is probably meant to be "grey" (the resistance value multiplier).
So the resistance seems to be 1,000,0000,000 ohms (that's 1 Gohm) with a 5% tolerance.
However, if the silver is actually silver (and not grey), then the resistor value seems to be 0.1 ohm at 5% tolerance!
I'm more inclined to believe this resistance value is 0.1 ohm rather than 1 billion ohms, as one billion ohm resistors are rarely used I believe.Last edited by brispuss; 12-03-2022, 11:03 PM. -

To me it’s a flame proof safety resistor. It should be very low in Ohms range. I get orange, black, silver, gold. That would be 0.3 Ohms. Look where it goes. Measure it, if it’s low in ohms range and not high in ohms or open, it’s good.Comment

Both silver and gold can be multiplier color bands.PeteS in CA

Looks like the resistor is RM802 on a PD27AOQ (BN44-00506B) power supply board, schematics using the STRW6052 call for a 0R35/2W resistor so a 0R3/2w would be ok.

Hi, this is more of a project help request than a troubleshooting question. I hope I can post it here.
I have a W-King D8 Bluetooth boom box which I'd like to modify with some external speaker output jacks and some buttons to switch the internal speakers on and off.
From factory the specs of the boom box are:
-Power Input: DC 5V
-Speaker Output Power: 2 x 25W ( confirmed by Youtube channel Hartdegen review as 12.5W RMS per channel)

Hello,I need help figuring out the resistance of this exploded resistor. I'm pretty sure it's the one labeled R37. I tried measuring it with a multimeter, but I got different values each time, probably because it's exploded. If you have a schematic, it would be really helpful!
Its a gtx 1060 6gb inno3d compact, i you have schematic it would be very helpful.... -
Is there any reason why high voltage high resistance resistor use weird marking and value on it? Standard nomenclature, EIA value not used?...

I am trying to repair an ancient Dell 2209WA Monitor which suddenly shut off with a pop sound. On investigation found that one of the fusible resistors had blown. Further investigation identified multiple components as faulty because of which the fusible resistor blew. Please refer the attached circuit diagram showing the components that were found to be damaged.
1. FR950 - blown fusible resistor - 0.2 Ohm 1W
2. Q950 - shorted Q950 MOSFET - 650V 10A N Channel Mosfet

Hello;
I have an ASUS G14 GA401QM that currently has no 5v rail among other things stated below in points #3 and #4. I'd like to see if it's condition can be improved.
1) Originally this laptop had a problem with a shorted main power rail, so measuring at the current sense resistor after the DC IN FETs yielded a very low resistance. Before proceeding further I measured the CPU coils. We get 8.2 Ohms on the farthest right coil (PL8105) and 3.3 Ohms on the four to left left of it (PL8101 through PL8104). When I injected 1v into the current sense resistor, PQH9402 got warm....
