Car ECU Chip identification, and find pinout

Hi There,

I'd like to read/write the contents of the chip. This is a 1995 vintage FORD ECU and IMMO controller.


Unfortunately, I can't find a circuit diagram or pinout on the chips.
The serial number uniqe, not factory?
Can you help me identify the chips or pins?

top chip (28pin) has a crystal connected to pins 5 & 6 so it's a microcontroller.
not sure what microcontroller texas instruments made in 1995

the lower 32pin chip *may* be an eprom or flash,
if you had the equipment you could lift it and try to read the electronic ID - but i suspect if you could then you would already have tried.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes the goal would be to read the bottom eprom.
I haven't lifted the chip yet. I'm afraid I would be hurt or I couldn't put it back properly. Its functionality would be important.
And I have a hot air gun solder. But I haven't used it yet to change chips.
This is new information for me: that the bottom of the chip can be an identifier?

the numbers are useless,
car ecu's always have custom numbers on everything.

You will not be able to find any information about this type of device because it is controlled by the manufacturer and they will not release this information to you

I have tried in the past with industrial equipment and was told because it was specially designed for the vendor that they could not release any information about the specifications of that part number but would answer questions about product that were not made for any other vendors which I was able to find a comparable part number that would probably work

the N81c66 microcontroller is a standard part,
the datasheet will have pinouts and you can trace them to the suspected memory chip

Thank you very much for your help. This seems like a good solution. I see the RT801f + PEB-1 eprom reader does not know this type of chip, I need to get another type of eprom reader.
