Re: my fist question here
I like MCM Electronics. I've got a few of their Tenma items, which as far as I can tell is their house brand. If you sign up for their catalog, they tend to run decent sales every couple months. I got a $90 station for $40.

by odononoI made a post over on reddit about how my windows laptop only works when plugged in now, because I dropped a screw driver on the connector pins where the laptop battery plugs into, causing sparks. I put a brand new battery in but still the same result, so something on the board obviously got fried (however, there's no visible burn marks, so no clue what was affected). I honestly wouldn't care, but my laptop is power throttling even with the internal battery unplugged (turns out this is a common problem on laptops with poor batteries or missing batteries). The GPU won't go above 40W when the TDP...

by h0m3w0rkHello everyone,
I'm working on repairing a Music Store Professional GO! SUB 18A bass subwoofer, and I need some help troubleshooting an issue with the power amplifier board. The board uses an IR2153 driver and originally had two SLW20N50C MOSFETs. Unfortunately, these MOSFETs burned out. I replaced them with two TK20J60W MOSFETs; however, these also failed almost immediately.
Here are some details:- SLW20N50C (original):
- Rated for 500 V
- Typical RDS(ON): 0.21 Ω
- Continuous Drain Current: 20 A at 25°C (13 A at 100°C)
- Pulsed Drain Current: 80 A
- Avalanche

by YG007Hello... Where do I start. I have 2 questions/scenarios that might bring this laptop back to life, so here it goes!
I have this laptop (Asus UX52VS) where I was flashing the BIOS to it and it froze during the process. I didn't have a reliable BIOS chip programmer at the time (It was a CH341A USB Programmer from Amazon where it took hours just to get the clamp on the chip and then every time I read, it gave me different results/corruption, and never would pass the verify test as no 2 reads were the same data), so I brought it to a shop. They had it for almost 2 months, but during... -
by learnmoreHello Community,
Based on your experiences and knowledge, which BGA Rework stations would you recommend for general use for an enthusiast at the low-mid-to-high price range? Based on what I've seen, £6000 may be considered high. I particularly like those with adjustable focus, built-in suction and ball alignment features, but I appreciate that they may be on the high end.
Also any thoughts on the PUHUI T-862++ IR Rework Station, LY GXX models, WDS-XXX models? -
by jason123Hello folks,
New to Audio equipment - I got this receiver, I connected speakers and I tried to connect to Bluetooth. My phone would not see the receiver (Receiver flashes the BT as if it's trying to pair). Then I put it on FM radio, I get white noise on the speakers. I click the +/- Tuner button, and it moves from saved station 1 through 28, but the frequency is 87.x MHz not changing. At this point, thinking I may need to do a FW upgrade, I connected an HDMI cable to the TV and TV reports "No Signal" - TV "Kind of" sees the receiver (When connected to greyed out port,...-
