Anyone know where to get a MAX8632ETI from (in the UK ideally), as I have a nice Lenovo X60 laptop here that has suffered some water damage and one of the pins has corroded.

A PWM IC?
If it's on the inverter just replace the assembly these are cheap and not worth fiddling with.Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either. -

Not possible if the a pin corroded off. I have seen this happen.

That is true, happened few times even a resistor's lead can get corroded in two. Okay, I had one monitor (extreme high end type using 20" Sony CRT) that uses earth's magnetic lines to sense which way monitor is "pointing" to automatically keep in convergence/pincushion geo things. It got liquid wet in there and it landed in one particular area and this happened to be a "compass" IC pin corroded off.
Since this is a exception due to this nature of monitor than just kick it along as unfixable, dug in and be so careful and extra finesse with dermel, ground the black package to expose internal pin and installed wire jumper (had to be twisted 2 fine strand wire from high gauge wire) with solder. Works great.
This package is size of a 8 pin SMD standard size but density of 16 pins means thinner lead legs.

Hi,
I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15IAU7 that suffered water damage. It doesn't turn on (white power light flashes when on button pressed), and the amber light flashes when plugged in.
Symptoms:- Short detected – sparks appear when touching the charging port connection with board with a metal (even a multimeter probe).
- Visible damage – after cleaning corrosion, I found 4 possibly burnt memory chips near PC3165, labeled UD5, UD6, UD7, and UD8.
What are my next steps to diagnose and possibly repair it without replacing the entire board? Any guidance would be greatly... -
I got lucky that when I got home and was about to get some ice out of the ice dispenser I hear and see water running down the outside of the ice dispenser what the heck is going on here
At first I thought that the ice dispenser mold was cracked so I brought a new ice maker because this one has been in there for about 10 years now
Well I put the new one in and wait and I wait for the water valve to open and let water in no such luck well there is a way to check the function of the motor and the water valve on this ice maker just need a jumper wire “L” to... -
Hi! My friend just brought this audio amplifier/speaker fro his music band saying they realized its got no sound. Led powers up but there no sound at all
I opened it and found 3 board. 2 of them are for input plugs and potentiometers, and the other larger board has the amplifiers for 2 large speakers that it drives
There's also a large toroid transformer that feeds a lower voltage to the first 2 boards and a larger voltaje (36x2 rectified close to 100v) to the power board. The power board has the plugs for both speakers
There is only one signal wire connecting the first boards... -
I have a water damaged Toshiba TV that was hanging nicely on the wall then over the summer we had a new multi-million pound boiler system put in and right where this TV was hanging is a nice new pair of water pipes for the radiators...
The TV hasnt been used for a fair few months but it was needed again the other day and needless to say, it didn't power on or show any signs of life (no standby LED etc). Hi all, I've been trying to find some information about this 2024 DELL XPS 9730 Have found absolutely no board views or schematics anywhere.
The laptop suffered some minor water damage around a power mosfet which I cleaned up and replaced. From what I can tell that p channel power mosfet source receives a 12V rail when a power supply is connected but its not passing voltage through the drain.
When I plug in the USB C charger with battery removed I'm drawing .2A at 20V
With battery connected it stays at 5V
