    SOP28 Detection

    Hello friends,

I found (a 28 pin chip) with a program that I want to copy at all costs.
My man has erased the mark (model)!
How to purge to know which chip it is?

Chances are, without other information, you are SOL even if it wasn't illegal.

trace the circuit, it looks like a microcontroller.
so if you work out what pins are for power, and crystal, and to the programming pads on the left then maybe you can identify the make & series.

If you want to be that secretive not to show
                      - the whole device
                      - large, clear pictures of the chip with all the interconnect

plus don't know any electronics... there's not much we can do. And even if we can figure out the chip (yes, it's a microcontroller, nobody would scratch out the ID of a memory chip), there's copy protection on these chips.

Which pins are each of the P2 connector connected to, hard to tell with the wires underneath the chip, need access to actual device to proceed unless you have an ohmmeter or something to check connections.

But I fear you will run into the copy protection on the chip, which is somewhat difficult to defeat. You're better off doing a cleanroom reverse engineer, which will need a logic analyzer and recreate the program...

Apparently it's likely a JTAG shifter that shifts into an appl€ product to unlock EFI passwords. So the guy who made it is likely just as savvy as apple to make sure it doesn't get copied.

                                        by SMDFlea
Copying DMI information from an old bios to a new one is difficult for some members, often they have no experience with a hex editor,or some that have tried find it too hard. There is an option to make things easier for those members so that they don`t need to post their own bios backup for the DMI copying.

Experienced bios modding members can help by posting in other threads the DMI offsets, macro script generated by the software and a download link to the software at softpedia mentioned in this guide,or post your macros in the comments here with a link to the bios request thread ....

all computers are entered into the server by local users, and there is shared folders on server with limited access to every computer
my question is there any method to disable copping form all shared folders on this server, but jest disable copy form server not paste on it.
my client want his team copy from their computers and paste on any shared folders on server, on the other way can not copy anything from shared folders to their computer.
or any way to disable copy on windows...

                                        Hello everyone,

About a year ago, I accidentally erased the firmware on the SPI ROM of a Thunderbolt retimer in my computer, mistaking it for the main BIOS chip. Since then, the Thunderbolt controller no longer appears in Device Manager, and I'm unable to use Thunderbolt functionality.

For context, my system has two retimers: UT5 and UT3. The one I erased is the UT3, which uses a W25Q80DVSSIG chip. In an attempt to fix this, I used a CH341A programmer to copy the ROM data from the UT5 retimer to the UT3, hoping it would restore functionality. Unfortunately, this didn't...
