Hello the the Badcaps community.
i am a new member and this is my first post. This post was written after a search in the forum for the information i need. Unfortunately i am doing something wrong so that is why i need your help / knowledge.
As known resistors can be identified from the band colors ( there are plenty calculators online for the lazy ones here).
I found this burnt resistor (?) on a power supply board of a Benq Monitor G2110W and i want to replace it. But i cant calculate the value of it. If i am seeing right that is a 5 band resistor with the following colors
Red, Black, Grey (or Silver), Gold (or Orange), White... Fact is that i the 5th band cant be white and the 3rd can not be Silver.
It is maybe a stupid question but we all have those too right ? How can someone identify from which side should he read the colors from left to right?
Online i found this info "If you’re uncertain from which side of the resistor to read the colors, start with the side closest to the color stripe. The first stripe is usually painted very close to the edge of the resistor; the last stripe isn’t as close to the edge."
But both sides seem exactly the same to me.
