    What component ?

    Everyone,

    What component is that ?
    I see it near inductor on 320Gb HDD board from Seagate
    Is it blown capacitor or TVS diode ?

    Cheers

    Re: What component ?

    i suspect from the track layout etc that it's some type of resonator.

    it's not power related.

          exactly, it's a timing reference probably - for one of the other chips.

            so if it's broken because of voltage spike...could it be all my TVS are died and the zener as well ?....I tested in circuit with analog multimeter...all the TVS gave me a value on reverse and forward....

              Re: What component ?

              you cant test them on the board, you wont know if it's the tvs or something else connected with it.

                so I must unsolder those TVS and test it off board....similar character with diode ?

                    Re: What component ?

                    I tried finding datasheet for these components code :
                    ON 307 15A and FT 301 LE....looks like a diode but I'm not sure if it's transient voltage suppresor diode ??

                      Re: What component ?

                      ON = ON-Semiconductor.
                      307 is a date code
                      15A = 15v TVS diode

                        Re: What component ?

                        and FT 301 LE ? so the code = 15A and the other one is LE ?
