Did this fix work? I noticed that R4 does not seem to be in parallel with D3... Which means that the path of R4 is the only continuation from the positive terminal of the battery. One would need to jumper in place of R4 to complete the circuit.... Doesn't seem right.

it's been a long time, just look at the battery circuit and change it so you have a diode from the battery to the ram and another diode from the 5v to the ram
i think it was that simple.

I understand it was quite awhile ago. 2015 I think was when the OP was made lol. I am not quite sure which IC is the RAM.
I attached some full shots of the board, as well as images cropped in on the battery circuit with a few annotations:

I hope this will help jog your memory.

The Volt reading before R4 across D3 is 5.1VDC, and after R4 steps it down is around 4.4VDC. This is the resulting potential at the battery terminals.

So what you are suggesting is the removal of R4, and replacing it with another diode?

you got the ram - it's the 6116
replace R4 with a low voltdrop diode

Awesome, assuming the cathode of the schottky facing towards D3 and anode towards the positive terminal on the new battery holder.

Assuming a common 1N4148 diode work well enough?

4148 will work, but a BAT43 will let you run the battery longer
the lower the voltdrop of the diode, the lower you can run the battery down before it cant power the ram

Re: Color Cells CC784 Repair & Restoration Log

Modifications finished, here is the end result:

The voltage across the battery leads live is 0.50V. And it seems to be keeping memory so far..

Although it has an issue where the set time does not progress. This issue was present before the battery modification, not sure how or if this can be repaired.

But the unit seems fine other than that. Thank you all for the help!

are you using a dc psu or an ac one?
it looks like it has a rectifier for ac so maybe the time is calculated from the ac waveform

So yes, it uses a transformer to pull the mains down to 9.5VAC at 4.2A, then there is a rectifying bridge on the main board after.

so it's probably tapping a signal before the smoothing caps to count the ac pulses.
it has to - it has no clock chip or crystal.

Repair of an LG split AC system indoor unit PCB
                          by ngml
I am trying to repair an LG split AC indoor unit, which does not start and gives a CH05 error code.
This indicates an error in the communication between the outdoor and the indoor unit.
The outdoor unit is fine, so the problem is the indoor PCB.
The indoor unit is an LG PC09SQ NSJ (3SNM09JA2FA), and the PCB has the following type number: EAX35907219-1.2 (see photo1)
I changed optocouplers ICO1X & ICO2X and the NPN transistor S9013 which drives optocoupler ICO2X (see photo2), but this did not remedy the fault.

Does anybody have the schematics of this board,...

                          The ups takes 3 x 18650 cells in Parallel - Can I extend to 6 x 18650 safely?
                          by Chaks
I need help to extend the runtime of the ups board (see attached image).
This is ups board for a CM4 which has 3 18650 cells in parallel. Can I extend the 3 cells to 6 cells for a longer runtime? by soldering a wire to each of the battery terminal and connecting it to a separate battery case with 6 cells.
                          Thanks and kind regards,

                          Hello everyone,

I'm turning to the Badcaps community to help me troubleshoot the radio Rx card from my (old) garage door opener. While I could just ditch that card and replace the whole system, I first would like to understand "why" it suddenly stopped working, because that's just how I am wired...!

Some basics: the receiver works on a 30.875 Mhz frequency. Yes, I'm aware this is not in use anymore in a looot of places. It does not use any rolling code, it's just a regular dip-switch code that you have to set up on both the receiver and transmitter. The receiver...

I have finished my work. The new lights come on except the one for stereo, I reversed the bulbs to no affect, anyway, the unit powers on, relay clicks. I have no DC voltage in speaker outputs, I also do not have any AC in the speaker outputs. There is some faint crackling in the speaker. This unit cranks up loud so I had the volume on very low. Everything seems to be fine but I can't really check the switch until I can get sound out of the outputs. I was going to do caps for the power supplys and the tone board but thought if it was cranking loud at one time maybe just leave it alone until it...

                          by pc_okay
                          Hello friends,

I have a problem with this printer Xerox Versalink C505 , printing perfectly in B&W but bad in color.

There is a little yellow ghost printing around color print.
So little text in color is unreadable.

I already change drum cyan & yellow with no success.
I try (i think) all avalable calibration in printer menu..
(black drum is dead but it's not the problem i think)

I'm not a printer specialist,if anyone has an idea?

                          Thanks !...
