Panasonic 4K Ultra HD sets made by...VESTEL!

Could it get any worse? Saw this in Argos. CX400 "Smart". Menus are dressed up in Panasonic style, but the telltale elements are all there, like the "no operation" message box.

Price was not a deal by any means, cheaper in Costco to get the CX600 4K UHD series, which is actually made by Panasonic, and free 5yr warranty.

    Sigh.

Re: Panasonic 4K Ultra HD sets made by...VESTEL!

We have a Philips TV in the bedroom that says "No Signal" randomly. It's not the HDMI cable going to the converter either. There was a firmware upgrade that was supposed to fix this problem but never did. In fact, I want to say it's worse since we updated the firmware. By worse, I mean it only happens maybe once a month, but before, it only happened once in a year or so. I wonder if it's similar to those Panasonic's where they're made by Vestal or something.

Out of interest where did they state this? I don't recall them ever publicly acknowleding the Vestel connection.

It was funny as I was at Asda superstore a week ago and they had a "Sharp" HD Ready 32" LED TV next to a Techwood brand set. A couple were looking at this. The Sharp was £229 and the Techwood(?) was £159. I pointed out that they were identical, and that if they just wanted a TV, the Techwood would do just fine...well, it would last as long at least! Interestingly, they were both made by UMC...I had thought Sharp were well in bed with Vestel, but apparently they sleep around!

I've got a UMC 50 inch "Bush" branded TV in the living room, and a 32 Inch Vestel "Technika". The UMC TVs in general seem better than the Vestels.

Earlier Elites seem to really suck! Saw a bulging Elite cap in a PSU of a real lightly used Dell Dimension 2350 PC.

Hmm I personally never seen one fail same for Aishi but still cheapo caps so guess over time they will quit.

                                           Hi,

I'm trying to resurrect a LG OLED C1 TV that has some panel banding. I used the TCON error bypass to get a picture. I was able to update the firmware as well. But when I performed a pixel cleaning to try to get the banding out, it made the image significantly worse. I tried to undo the effects of the pixel cleaning by performing a factory reset and IN_Stop, but that didn't work. Any way to reset pixel cleaning data?...
