Can I use JTAG to flash an eeprom in and out of circuit?

Baically, what I'm asking is if that, knowing the pinout, could I connect the JTAG leads directly to an eeprom and perform read/write operations regardless of whether there are JTAG test points on the board. And out of circuit do the same, but in that situation I'd use one of those flash adapter things which would then be plugged into a breadboard. I've looked into the actual eeprom flash tools and, even in the $600+ range, there are always eeproms I'd need to flash which aren't supported.

no, eeproms arent jtag, they are i2c or microwire or spi interfaced.

what part numbers do you need to flash?

I'll have to look when I get home. But in general, I'm looking for something universal which could be done based on pin out, as opposed to the "universal" programmers which only work if it's a supported eeprom. Even something PC based would be fine. I can always make my own hardware interface.

I forgot I took a picture of it last night. It's an S29GL128N11TFI01. I am unable to find an exact main board for the 50" TV I'm working on, but can find the exact board in a 42" model. I'm certain the only difference is firmware. I could probably just pull the eeproms and swap them, but if I screw up then I'll have no way of going back. Trying to reprogram it, I'll at least have a backup of the fw.

thats a 56pin flashchip, not an eeprom.

you need to jtag those through the cpu, or lift them off the board and use an expensive socket & programmer.

I was going over the data sheet for it and see there's a possibility it could be password protected. Would that stop a read operation? Also, how does one figure out the JTAG test points?

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
              by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

[Help] Lenovo Yoga Slim 7-14ARE05 (DA0LS3MBAF0) – 25Q80DVN1G Flash Is All FF, USB-C PD Stuck at 5V
              by ekozeko333
              Hi all,
I’m trying to recover a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7-14ARE05 with board DA0LS3MBAF0 Rev:F. I’ve run into an unusual issue where USB-C PD is stuck at 4.7–5V and the system won’t boot (keyboard lights flash briefly, then nothing).
🔥 The Problem Started After Suspected ESD/PD Fault
I experienced a power issue or ESD event through a USB-C charger
After that, the NX20P5090 power switch was visibly burned and was replaced
Now the PD controller always negotiates 5V @ 2A, even with known-good chargers

Fixing the Charge Circuit of the Batteries of the DC Motor
              by Astonished
              Hi friends of electronics

What you see in the video and pictures attached is the circuit for charging the batteries of a DC motor.

The problem is that this circuit cannot charge the batteries (3 1800mAH NiMH batteries) any more. When the circuit was OK, its green LEDs lit up one at a time to show that the batteries have charged more. But now that the circuit is flawed, LEDs light up as you see in the video and at the same time successive beeps are heard.

Please help me fix this circuit.

Canon VIXIA HF S10 A read data from inernal flash memory.
              by abajor
Hello I've had somebody bring in one of these charming little cameras to attempt retrieving data from the internal 32GB flash.
Something is damaged inside the cameras lens assembly I can hear it clunking around and it has probably dislodged the sensor, powering up the camera gives a blank screen and the focus motor sounds like it's having a fit.
The camera will not connect to a computer via USB in this state, I have no options no navigation, just power up and focus/zoom motor noises.

I think my best shot is to figure out a way to read the internal flash memory outside...

4 red flash led 65X950G boot Sony and android logo but then black
              by Ihandyrepair
              HI guys

I got here a Sony 65X950G - I tried to find any repairs guides for this model but not many online

              here is the issue
I have Sony and android logo. but then 4 led red flash lights front of the tv

I have 3.3v ref. 12v reg then T con 12v when I press the power on button
but then I get black screen and 4 red flash light at the front LED
but I get 3 led flash on the LED driver board.

I check that few X900F or C YouTube repairs, seems that if you have 4 led red flash it could be due of LED black light error
              so I tried...
