    Re: Reusing EPROM's

I'm in Arizona and once tried erasing some UV EPROMs with sunlight by placing the chips so they faced south and were tilted about 45 degs. Almost all of their bits were erased after just one day, most chips were completely erased in two days, and three days seemed to be enough for 100% erasure.

I've heard of people programming UV EPROMs in sockets intended for EEPROMs by making a few modifications, including maybe a +12V supply line where the programming voltage normally goes.

      Re: Reusing EPROM's

I got myself another stack of windowed EPROM chips.
They range from 256k to 512k and were all pulled from IBM PS/2 systems.
I also found a good use.
Someone on the net is offering an Onyx IP25 board with a missing PROM chip. What says hat it's impossible to just make a new one off and image?
