What is this IC please? troubleshooting an Xbox One controller

I am trying to work out what this IC is, not seen this one before.

I don't have a schematic available so having to do the old skool following traces etc.

I am trouble shooting an Xbox One controller that is not powering up via USB-C or Battery (2x AA)

I think the Diode is a Zener diode and looks like it has 20 on it. Although I could be wrong.
Also not sure if it’s SOD-123 or SOD-323
From the Cathode line which way does the text read on these diodes (Voltage regulators)

              thanks again.
Any idea on the one that has burnt out. It looks like it could be 20, but then it could be D2 (if the text normally reads after the cathode line.
I definitely need to replace this component as you can see from the image.
i might be able to get a clearer photo, if I pull out my AmScope microscope (which had been put away until after Christmas)

                The diode has many possibilities.

                http://markingcodes.com/search/c/d2
                http://markingcodes.com/search/c/02

You need to do some circuit tracing. For example, does the diode connect to ground or Vcc? If it's a Zener regulator, I would expect to see a capacitor and series resistor nearby.

Can you upload a photo of the entire PCB?

This is the best I could take as a quick photo, without getting the Scope out.

Do the other diodes and transistors have the same marking code?

What does the J3 connector do?

                    What is the device?

I'm wondering whether the transistors are switching some external devices such as relays, in which case the diodes would be for back-EMF protection.

Edit: Your previous post refers to an Xbox One controller. Is that what this is?

Yes this is for the Xbox One controller still.
tFrom memory the other diodes had T2 or T4 on them,
I can't be too sure as it's in my little office which is closed up for the evening.
I can check first thing in the morning and update you with the results though.
I will also try to get some better pictures with better lighting if that helps as well.

The J3 connector goes to another PCB (see additional photo)

                          here are the new images.
Note: I have taken fresh ones of both PCBs on both sides.

Also, in regards to the other Diodes and Transistors- a lot of them are very similar with T4 on them, however further upstream I located a diode with " 02 " so I am taking a good guess that this is also the one that has burnt out.
Do you have any idea what rating and type of diode this one is please (Is it a Zener?)

If you need anything else just ask please.

U6 appears to be a stepdown converter. The adjacent diode (also "20" or "02") could be the flywheel diode for this converter, in which case it is probably a high speed Schottky diode.

Can you identify the marking on U6?

                            Edit:

Is U5 the same as U6? If so, then U5 has no flywheel diode, so "02" must have some other function.

Can you trace the circuit around U6?

I will check in the morning for both U5 and U6 markings.

I will also trace around U6 and report back tomorrow with my findings

Please do not judge on this image... It is the best I could do with only my laptop touchpad to connect some of the wires (i know they should be straight lines) because I was unable to locate U5 and U6 Switching Regulator with correct Pin output...

Here is the schematic though to the best I could do in such short time

                                U5 & U6 are both different markings (U5 = 1N4L) & (U6 = 1N6L)

Note: the black squiggle is suppose to be a connecting wire.I can redo this a little later but have to pop out to do some ""LAST MINUTE"" Christmas Shopping

                                  1N4L = TPS613221A = 3.3V boost converter

                                  1N6L = TPS613226A = 3.6V boost converter

                                  https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tps61322.pdf

The external diode is optionally used when higher currents are required. It is a high speed Schottky. Its part marking suggests a rating of 2A.

                                  The package looks like SOD-323.

This is just one of many possible substitutes:

Thank you for that information.. you are awesome and helping massively.

If I swap out this diode for a new one, is there a big chance this will fix the short... or am I thinking there is much more to this short, because to blow out a 2A diode is quite worrying..is it not??

I don't have a spare controller to rob from for troubleshooting, can this be bypassed or this that a big NO NO

It's a SOD123 or 323 trying to figure that bit out still.

Lastly, using that terrible schematic could you identify which pins are which on the U5 and U6 please....

I am really needing to locate the Power Rails so I can do some proper testing, but its such a minefield

                                      The datasheet has a pinout.

The topline.tv PDF has package drawings and dimensions.

I don't know what caused the short, so I can't tell if replacing the two parts will be all that's required. Sorry.

BTW, I only used the two ICs to help me identify the diode. I'm not suggesting that there's anything wrong with them.

Short circuit on XBOX controller - Model 1914.
                                          by MarkC1970
We have a XBOX 1914 controller that has shorted the 3V3 to J2 (aerial connector). If you unplug the aerial, the controller boots and connects. It seems stable without the aerial plugged in but it is not ideal.

                                          The schematic is on https://www.acidmods.com/RDC/XB1/Sch...OME_VALUES.pdf

I have little to no understanding of these RF transmitters and so I am unsure what has failed. Currently, T2 is short on Pins 1 to 2 and RFF2 is also short on Pins 1 to 2. This is how the 3V3 is getting connected to J2, clearly one or both of these components are faulty....

I bought my son a used Xbox One original model: A12-220N1A Rev: 02 with original PSU & 2 controllers 7 years ago. I “modded” the unit placing a 4.5” 12V exhaust fan with a 9v wall wart adapter on top of the vent/fan of the unit. And plugged the Xbox PSU into a Tripplite LTR-600 voltage regulator. Also connected to the Tripplite are a 275w computer tower, an Xbox 360 PSU and a Westinghouse 52” LED TV. ...

Hi, could someone please help me here to identify these blue SMD 0201 components.
I also have a spare broken board (same model) and can confirm same components installed.
Strangely though they have identified Z1 as the same component even though it differs from Z2 and Z3.
It's from an Xbox Series S/X controller that I am attempting to fix for my Son..
yes I hear a lot of people saying “Just buy a new one because they are cheap” buy this is the White PCB limited edition.

Also identification for the other component EW=9L N13
                                          Thanks in advanced

Xbox One Controller - Phantom stick activity (sticks completely uninstalled)

                                          Hi All,

I bought some used Xbox one controllers "as is/untested" and they both have the same issue. The joysticks go wild for no reason while plugged in.

                                          https://youtube.com/shorts/YTYtjUPkBX0?feature=share

I removed both joysticks assuming it was an issue with the sticks, but the video posted here is the activity of the sticks with no sticks installed! My only guess is one of the tiny IC's that reads the inputs is broken. There are two small ones near either joystick, and then one larger one. I found a replacement on Aliexpress for the larger one...

                                          I have an ASUS ROG Strix- G513IH-HN008, motherboard G513-6050A3249301- MB-A04 (A4)

When I received the device, the device has no function. After an investigation, I found that the PWM CONTROLLER RT6575B (U6100) is getting warm and there is a short circuit at the 3V3 output. This normally supplies 3V3 for the embedded controller IT5571E-128 (U301). When measuring and analyzing with a thermal imaging camera, I found that some components are damaged: SLG4E42553VTR (U8500), IT5571E-128 (U301), LAN RTL8111H (U450), LOGIC 74LVC1G08GW (U1900), RT6575B (U6100) All these components are on...
