anyway to repair my amp? keeps making brusting sounds

i'm not sure whats wrong, i have a retro dts2500 from Cambridge and haven't been able to fix it. the amp i think is the source of the problem, it keeps making these loud bursting or hissing and popping sounds through the speakers.

the knobs are good, i have them oiled, i have done some soldiering on it in case there was a dry joint but haven't been able to repair it. the caps look to be in good shape and a recap might cost me a pretty penny, so trying to isolate the issue and just repair / replace whats broken there is also plenty of white noise.. can you guys help me out?

I have the same issue with a carver mt-500 amp or from my carver c-1 pre-amp, have not been able to find a wiring diagram or any technical help as these units are no longer made. Any help would be appreciated.

Bile, you can find out if you have the problem in the pre-amp C-1 or the power amp, if you have PC powered speakers system, you can use the RCA to stereo mini phone jack adapter to take the line out of the C-1 and feed it to the powered speakers line input and see if you can hear any noise, if not, then the problem is in the power amp section. That will be the first step to narrow down the problem first.

By the way, you can get service manuals for your CARVER here:

Carver CM-1090 - Power relay clicking on & off, then fuse blown after 20-30 seconds of power cycling.
        by beetle1303
I gotten a Carver CM-1090 amplifier from a friend who has kept it in storage for decades. Opened it up, thick layer of dust cumulated everywhere. Vacuumed it semi-cleaned, and blown off as much as possible the remaining dust. This is a 220V version.

On initial powered up with nothing connected - it works with all the lights and button indicator lit up as pressed, etc. I then powered off, connected a CD player into the CD RCA input and powered it on. It seemed to work for a short while and when I turned the volume up and down to see the the VUs works, the power started to clicked off...

TCL 65S450F no logo, bleeping sounds?
        by CapLeaker
Got a brand spankin' new TCL 65S450F here. Plugged the TV in and it booted up and wanted a firmware update right away. O.k. I guess it did that or not... I got no forking clue. Came back in 10 mins later and the screen is black, backlights on. The Standby light is blinking and every 10 to 15 seconds makes bleeping noises. That's all she does. Tried a factory reset and that must work as I can adjust the volume of the bleeping and it returns to factory volume afterwards. Also tried big black button with the circle right button on the remote and no go.

        EDIT: No bootloop the bleeping...

Bose Wave I AWRCC1 - intermittent to no sound output - loud popping & crackle sounds
        by proxneo
        Dear reader

I have been asked to check out a faulty Bose Wave system belonging to a relative. The faulty unit produces loud intermittent pops and crackles. Sometimes there is speaker audio output (FM/AM, CD etc.), most of the time there isn't. This behaviour degraded over time fairly quickly, to the current situation where no sound is put out at all. Gently messing and wiggling wires, connectors or heatsink has no effect in force-replicating the problem. I have little experience in audio repair when it comes to (main)board electronic component faults. Bose repair WAS about 140$ (most...

Does anyone have Bob Carver Sunfire Ultimate Receiver Firmware Update 3.22?
        by higuys
Hi everyone, I posted this over in AVSForum and someone mentioned I should try posting here. Does anyone have Sunfire Ultimate Receiver Firmware update 3.22? Sunfire only has version 3.20 on their website, I was told by one of the few people that worked on these units 3.22 is the latest version but his computer just stopped working. I've emailed Sunfire several times and they won't respond or update the version on the site. Any help is much appreciated!
