I purchased three AT&T VideoPhone 2500 units and all three worked until (and I assume this is totally unrelated) I pulled the battery on one, then the LCD stop displaying anything other than a black or white screen.
Because I had two other working phones I swapped parts around until I concluded that the issue lay in the logic board above the screen the camera was attached to. Further testing found that when the phone was powered up a Sony CXD1254AR Camera sync and timing signal generator chip was getting near burning to the touch so either it's shorted out or something is shorting it out.
From there I can't really conclude what is at fault, or even why the LCD would even need this chip to operate (just for timing?).
