The master capacitor cross reference substitution thread...

AFAIK, there is no single point of information where information where people can quickly cross reference or substitute good cap for a bad cap ... the information is out there, but it is all scattered out among multiple posts.

So I'm creating this thread is for all the folks who fix electronics needing to replace all the failed Teapos, Taicons, OST, LTEC, Lelons, Fuhjiyuus, G-Luxons, Capxons, Jamicons, obsolete series good caps, and all the other knows who the heck made them electrolytic capacitors.

As I go about doing my research I am gathering up all the datasheets. Eventually I plan tol compress them up into a RAR file and host them for downloading or put them onto a CD/DVD along with some other applicable datasheets for commonly found mosfets, switches, and rectifier diodes and maybe offer it for a small price to cover my time and expenses in putting it all together.

Members are welcome to contribute their findings... it will definately help in gathering up all the information.

    Here we go...

    Capxcom:

Their capacitors may suck, but I do have to give them kudos for having a decent website, easily accessable datasheets, and clearly marked capacitors. Listed below are some of the more commonly encountered cap series. Their complete product lineup can be found at http://www.capxongroup.com/en/prod_all_cat_full.aspx

    1. Standard series:

    GS(GR), GW, KM, KW, LL

Notes: Bottom of the line performance. GS(GR) and GW are 85°C all others 105C°, GW and KW are low profile, LL are low leakage. All caps are rated 2000hrs.

2: Low impedance/ Low ESR series:

GL, KF, KZ, GF, LZ, GH, GF

Notes: All caps rated at 105°C. Rated life varies from 1000 hours to 10000 hours. GL miniaturized low impedance/LESR, KF common in PSUs, KZ and GF low impedance, LZ ULESR high ripple, GH long life high temp low impedance.

    To be continued...

    OST

Again, their capacitors suck. But at least the series are easily identified, have their datasheets available and a fairly decent website. Oh yeah, and their color scheme is sexy... gold on black. If nothing else it makes them look like they are high performance. Their product lineup can be found at:

    http://www.ost.com.tw/products_ec_list.asp

    1. General Purpose Series:

ADF, REB, RGP, RGU, RLG, RLH, RLL

Notes: All caps in series rated at 105°C except ADF and RGU. Most are rated at around 2000 hours with a couple exceptions. RLG and RLH series are commonly found in SMPS.

    2. Low ESR series

HT, RLA, RLK, RLP, RLS, RLX, RXG, RXH

Notes: All rated at 105°C except HT at 125°C; HT, RLA, RLS, RXG are ULESR

    3. Miniaturized series

    RMG, RMH, RSM, RSG

      Fuhjyyu:

Probably the most infamous of all capacitor manufacturers. Horrible quality and their website is nothing to brag about either. Unfortunately they don't offer their datasheets in PDF form so I've gathered up their product line and printed each series page using CutePDF writer. Also, their product catalog does not offer ripple current compensation for each series directly so I saved the pages listing the data as a web archive in IE.

Their product lineup can be found at:

      http://www.fuhjyyu.com.tw/pro.htm

      Taicon:

Another crap cap manufacturer, one of Nichicon's red headed stepchildren. Seen a lot of iffy caps in commonly found in PSUs. Product Datasheets scattered all over the website. There are just too many series to list specifics.. Like playing pokemon with the datasheets, gotta catch em all! Datasheets can be found at:

      http://www.taicon.com.tw/product/product_1.htm

      Teapo and G-Luxon

Teapo merged with G-Luxon back in 2005. For the most part, I find that their caps are not so bad, but I still don't trust them.

Teapo's website is a bit of a clusterhump, but they do at least combine their product's datasheets into a couple large PDF files and offer some good technical info.

Their datasheets can be located at:

      http://www.teapo.com.tw/products2006E.htm

      Comparison between Teapo and G-Luxon:

        PAYDIRT!!!

Found this jewel on Lelon's website. Its a big huge comparison table of not only their capacitor lineup, but equivalents for Panasonic, Nichicon, and a ton of other manufacturers.

        Data.pdf

This absolutely positively needs to be a sticky somewhere!

Heck this pretty much saves me a ton of work...

There are some old threads on Badcaps on this matter too:

              Thermistor specs and cross reference
              by connorcc2005
              Hi,

I'm getting some conflicting information and thought I'd toss it out to all of you for input.
What I have is a TTC-104 thermistor. This is part of a temp sense circuit that will drive a small 12v fan to cool components mounted to SMPS heat sink.
The physical diameter of the piece is 5.1mm measured with a caliper.
Other than what you see in the pic, there is no other writing on the part.

My research of the TTC-104 says it should read 100 ohms at 25C. Out of circuit measurements have it at approximately 100k. It does change as the temp changes....

              Voltage regulator cross-reference
              by raregtp
Hey all....hoping someone can help me with this. I have a couple voltage regulators I'm trying to cross but not having much luck.

              The first is:

              A1
              AS1117L-18
              B0640 25

              The second is:

              A1
              AS1117L-33
              B0640 28

I know the AS stands for Alpha Semiconductor, and I think I've found a datasheet for the AS1117L-33, just can't find anything for the -18. Ultimately I'm looking to cross these over to parts that I can get now, as all I'm finding similar are AZ1117 regulators.

              If anyone can assist...

              by stormanimal83
i bought a use console from ebay fixed it and it has parental lock. seller wasn´t helpful and nintendo either cause they don´t support used devices as they told me per mail. thanks for the bad support here in germany. was totally upset as i read the answer to my mail from 1 week ago.... there was no other way to get rid of that code rather than modding the console cause i didn´t even had the device id as it´s a patched V1 and for getting masterkey on salthax there is the need to type in the device id which was unknown in this case... i did a mistake. after the repair i entered my wlan and...

Reference Nvidia GTX 980 ti - looking for a new shroud
              by speaktorob
So a while back, to deal with the fan noise of the old blower style shrouds on the reference cards, I chucked it and installed the monster that is a Raijintek MORPHEUS 8069, with a couple Noctuas on it. Did the job but quite unwieldy tbh.

Anyone know which boards would have a compatible shroud for it? I know the EVGA used the reference board but wondering if any other manufacturers did. I want to put something sensible back on it, but I'm having a hard time getting hold of even a faulty reference board for a reasonable price.
