Has anyone else here got a tremor? I have benign essential tremor and it really screws up my ability to do any kind of fine soldering. I've gotten a little better at it over time but it's still a really big barrier, and I kind of gave up with laptop mainboard repair because of it. If anyone else has this, any tips on keeping the iron a bit more stable?

It is yep - annoyingly it's the type that gets worse when your hand muscles are tensed! I usually have to stabilise the iron with both hands, but of course that makes it really difficult to keep components positioned while I'm solderingDell E7450 | i5-5300U | 16GB DDR3 | 256GB SSDComment

(Q: have you noticed if the motion is more side-to-side than front-to-back?)
You might try to use a hot-air iron so you don't have to hold the iron as firmly to the work. You can purchase "rework fixtures" that can hold the "iron" and then use coarse motor skills to maneuver the work into position/contact with the business end of the iron.

Has anybody tested this product? Posting this question on a Facebook tech group I'm in got a few responses like "that kind of thing corrodes the tips" and "just using normal solder paste is much better" so I'm not looking for generic responses like that, but rather, does anybody know for certain whether this exact product is good or bad for soldering iron tips?

Hi all,
I am testing a USB powered soldering iron. It's made by Kaiweets but I believe it's also sold under other names.
As a standard test, I checked whether there was any voltage leak from the tip - that said the thing runs on USB-C power delivery so am I correct that the whole unit is floating and not grounded? If I check, I measure 90V at the tip but I have a feeling that that is not relevant? Maybe caused by that capacitor between primary and secondary inside the PSU? I do not see current flowing at all.
