    ESR-Micro v5.0

I purchased an ESR-Micro v5.0 after reviewing a lot of positive feedback. I am new to electronics and please excuse me if I come off as a little green because I am. Anyway, after unpacking the ESR I decided to test it on a new capacitor, 330 uf 25v. The readings although they tended to keep changing all over the place average 284 uf and an ESR value of .55. I thought this was suspicious so I checked the uf readings with my Fluke 87v and they came back at a solid
313 uf. My question is does anybody know if this instrument needs to be calibrated or is this margin of error acceptable. Based on the readings from the ESR meter I would have replaced a perfectly good capacitor. I am debating purchasing another ESR meter now to check the ESR values returned. The instruction for this unit are for the 4.0 and they are awful.

The instructions do seem a little awful but they do detail a calibration procedure.
I know it's for the 4.0 but have you tried it ?

Thank you, I did read the calibration piece and I will try that for the probes again. The other part of the calibration for removed capacitors seems confusing.

Diff, I did re calibrate and the ESR dropped to .25 and the UF came up to 295 uf. Still lower than the Fluke reading of 313 uf. Not sure about the accuracy of what so I going to get a hold of another ESR meter and compare.

What is the expected ESR for your 330uf 25v capacitor ?

I use my ESR meters for finding faulty caps. I have a cheap component tester like this https://www.ebay.com/itm/Signal-Gene...r/392274906231 and a more expensive PEAK ESR70.
They show almost the same readings when I use them.

Capacitance accuracy compared to your fluke isn't important. Accuracy of ESR and capacitance to the specs of known good caps is, specially as the tolerance for the actual capacitance is 20%.

330 uf capacitor ESR value according to the chart is .25 which is good now. I thought 10% on the capacitance was the magic rule - if 20% then no problem and I guess I will disregard the difference between the two meter readings - thank you for the feedback.

The problem may be in the frequency at which the measurement is made.
Look at this ESR table. The measurement frequency is 100kHz.

                    Hisense calibration
                    by jaco2d
Hi i recently purchased a Hisense u7hqtuk TV, there is 2 different version of this set, the UK, Europe one and the America one, i have the UK and Europe version.
I have searched for calibration for the TV but i can only find it for the America one which has 1000 nits, the version i have has got 600 nits so the calibration settings will not work.
Has anyone got this TV and managed to get good picture setting for it or can anyone find a link to the calibration settings?
The picture is good enough but if possible i would like to get the best possible picture settings for the...

                    ATTEN ST 8800 D calibration ?
                    by draag de wereld
I have an ATTEN ST 8800 D. I tried it out and I have a problem with this machine. When I get the machine at 500°C at 50% airspeed. My motherboards (I tried on several) barely heat up to 180°C. I know how to calibrate the machine, but it can't be a calibration of 300°. Anyone has the same problem with this machine. I know buying cheap is buying expensive but a 300° difference is a rip off.

Samsung UA55KU6500 where is panel calibration stored?
                    by groybe
                    Hi,

Have a storm damaged TV that had a short on the power to IC207 a tiny surface mount near the emmc that still remains after I removed the IC207.

So I got a new mainboard from aliexpress and it all works but I'm wondering if there's a way to transfer calibration data from the old board to the new one or if that's even necessary?
I presume there is some sort of calibration done at the factory??

There are 2 winbond flash ics w25q40cl, w25q80dv and another eeprom 24c512cl.

I tried swapping those to the new board but the TV wouldn't...

Zombie Samsung UN55NU6900F dead / no standby voltage - randomly came to life after hours of troubleshooting then died
                    by tvguy12012012120
This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.

Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today....

                    Hofmann geodyna 6300 Wheel balancer
                    by Grouickman
                    Hi there,

First, I'm not sure it's the right section to post for this type of device, but could not think of something better.

Ok, so my son (a mechanic) bought a faulty Hofmann Geodyna 6300 wheel balancer (which appears to be mostly a re-branded Snap-on wheel balancer).

I'm looking for any resources (doc, manuals, schematics) that would be available for this device or anyone that would have any knowledge on this particular device (or its Snap-On equivalent).

I'm trying to diagnose the fault(s ?), but I can't find any schematic (appart from the...
