    Oscilloscope default pre-trigger window position

On LeCroy oscilloscopes, the default pre-trigger viewing window is one horizontal division from the left while Tektronix (and a number of Chinese manufacturers including Hantek) has a default pre-trigger viewing window is the left half of horizontal divisions from the centre.

For most of the time, I seem to prefer a pre-trigger viewing window of one horizontal division from the left rather than the left half of horizontal divisions from the centre.
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

it's down to what your viewing i suspect.

if your looking for something rare like a glitch, the center area is best,
but for a repeating waveform starting on the left will give you more to see.
