i'm not sure it's 100-230v - check the 110v bit with the seller.

    btw, found a stand yet??

i'm thinking it needs to be handled in a different way from the traditional stand.
    with the tip facing upwards.
i was thinking of maybe a heavy base like a microphone-stand with a U shaped clip on it to put the handle down onto.
Aliexpress. Was about £15 not the usual £22+. I spent £7 on replacing the crap handle so about the same.

Nope, no stand yet, i leave it laying on my desk for added excitement/danger.

They look ok Vince. I mainly use a T12-JS02 and T12-K tip and wouldn't use half of that tip set, but it's personal choice and soldering style I guess.

    started a topic Bakon 950D

    Bakon 950D

Just a quick one for Vince and any others thinking of buying a Bakon 950D soldering iron.
There are two types of handle. The one on the right in the photo has a rubber grip, finger guard and a nice short piece of tip protruding.
The handle on the left is a cheaper all plastic handle with no finder guard and a much longer piece of the same T12 style tip protruding.

    Bakon 950d problem
    by tmks2
I have a problem with the Bakon 950d soldering station. It worked for many years without a problem, now it warms up to the set temperature and displays the error S - E. I noticed that the MOSFET AOD425 reaches a very high temperature. Where could be the problem?...

    Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

    Hello, you fine folks.

I've been hearing good things about the Bakon 950D (what a funny name!) soldering station with T12 tips (mistakenly labeled as T3 or T13, i see), so I thought i'd order one and a set of various tips.

The station arrived a couple weeks ago and I was pretty impressed with it, but I wondered if it could do just a little bit better. The replacement tips have arrived last week, just need to pick the package up. Anyway, on to the bacon (pun intended)!

I have noticed that it is usually labeled as 75W. Well, mine is labeled as 50W, so I...

    DIYPHONE Store and AIXUN T420D
    by Sudoer
I've seen enough reviews of AIXUN T420D on YouTube and decided to try it. One handle defective from the inside, ruined 3 JBC tips, just destroyed the plastic on the tips. One stand does not work, the soldering handle not drop the temperature. Because the seller refused to return the money, and AliExpress supported him and even PayPal did not help, I can disassemble this piece of shit and see what inside, if anyone is interested. The seller said that the station does not work with JBC handles, but I checked that it works. It's just a pity to connect the original handle to this shit. Beware of order...
