    Re: Butane pen torches?

Looks like SWAN has both "lighter fluid" and "SWAN gas" ... the latter possibly being true butane, but not sure what the former is, perhaps has higher heavy distillates.

SWAN gas for lighters is 1.88 UK pounds for 200mL at Tesco today => ~ $2.84 for ~4.23 oz - decent price if this is truly butane.

Alas, it looks like SWAN is a UK brand, and not a viable option in the US

the liquid will be pure high-octane petrol for use in old-style lighters with the flip-cover and a wick & flint

May be. I learned that technical gasoline, worldwide known as white spirit/mineral spirits, works as well in those petrol lighters. It somewhat smells though. My lighter is only usefull if you have the filling near you as within two weeks the filling always dries out.

Now need a non electrically powered soldering tool that can use lighter fluid/white spirit instead of butane...

Don't think it's possible, you don't have the pressure to get decent flame. These lighters burn like candle…

Optiplex 3050 micro 2 blinks followed by 3 blinks issue
              by Taurus12
Does anyone have an idea of what might be the issue with my 3050 micro? I have tried replacing new cmos battery but still the same

I am not sure if its the powersupply that I'm using is the issue since its the original powersupply. its a laptop powersupply with the same specifications with the 3050 micro so i guess it should be fine.

i also tried replacing the bios but with no avail, everytime i try another bios it gives a different blinking lights

Any recommendation on what I have to do next? Thanks in advance

Possible to convert eMMC Socket to a micro SD Card socket?
              by Isabella91
I have seen many posts where the eMMC can be read via a SD card reader, however can the opposite be achieved?

Read/Write a Micro SD Card from an eMMC Socket.

I have a Motherboard with a Kingston BGA153 ball socket, using HS400 bus mode, which is 8bit, as Micro SD is usually 1bit or 4bit mode, I accept that a loss of speed in read/write will occur, but I would sill like to convert.

Theoretically speaking, Im thinking if I hard solder DAT0-3 from eMMC to SD Card Reader, this should force 4-bit mode, or only DAT0 to force 1-bit mode.

              Not to remove...

It broke in the hot air.
Will I be able to buy this same model?

              Dell 3080 Micro BIOS dead
              by tracks
              Hello all,

I have a Dell 3080 Micro with a problem. As it is right now, it seems to be boot looping, maybe... There's no output, just fan on and power led lights up and blinks off every 2 seconds or so.
Previous owner told me he bought it with a BIOS password, he tried to use a CH341A programmer with some random test clip and tried to mess with it while it was powered on. Now it won't boot.

I tried to dump the bios with an EZP2023+ but I can't get a consistent read. Every time the dump is different, so it's unusable. I think the BIOS chip is fried.

9th Gen Dell Optiplex Micro PC motherboard repair: Short Circuit?
              by Geeker007
Hi All, I have a 9th Gen Dell Optiplex micro PC motherboard which doesn't power on. When I connect the motherboard with power adapter, it goes into safe mode and turns off. So from info I have gathered online, it looks like there is a short circuit on the motherboard. So can you guys help me with figuring out the issue?

I am new to electronics repair, so my queries could be naive but I am ready to learn.

So I have a multimeter and a solder with me. But I can try to get a variable voltage power supply with a thermal camera as well. From what I seen online, best way is...
