    Oscilloscope hitachi v212 20 MHz

My brother gave me this oscilloscope.I not sure if it will work for testing on tvs such as for bad tcon board or panel.I know it is 20mhz.It is not in best physical condition but looks like it works.

A tad rough but it looks mostly complete sans a knob.

Based on the age and looks like not too ideal storage conditions before you might have to pop it open and give the front switches a cleaning with your favorite electronics cleaner (I have deoxit myself).

If the line jumps around when you bump switches it's almost always dirty switches, or if it's unstable at certain switch positions.

Will 20mhz be enough for tv repair.

OK for Checking switching power supply, audio, but the LVDS signal can be >100 Mhz.

I've heard good things about the Rigol units if you want new.

If you look used it's easier to just look around to see what there actually is then go based on what you find. Looking on what I assume is your local craigslist (Dallas, TX) I don't see a whole lot but something might turn up.

Why don' t you clean up the switches and controls and then use it just to get use to how to use the scope before spending more money, it will more than good enough for troubleshooting power supplies.

How not to Damage an Oscilloscope
                  by Tarot Superstars
                  Hello.
I have jut got my first analogue oscilloscope. An Isotech 620 20MHz.

I want to learn how not to damage it, and I found instructions on the internet obscure.
They talk about ground, earth, floating ground, this, that....
But they don't actually say anything anything useful so far.

                  I want to know:
Don't connect exactly this to exactly there or it blows up.

For example, I am tracing a signal from a function generator in an audio amp, or testing for voltages in different parts of a circuit.
I want to know what not to connect...

                  Dynamco analogue oscilloscope
                  by Evets
I have recently acquired a Dynamco D7100 analogue oscilloscope without a user manual. As this is the first time I have owned or used an oscilloscope I would like to try and find an instruction book. The manufacturers no longer hold any information and a Google search only found one site but when I downloaded a 'service manual' all I got was gobbledegook. Any help would be gratefully appreciated or even pointers to a generic manual where I could learn more.

                  TV Model: Hitachi 40HYC42
                  Power Supply: 17IPS71
                  MainBoard: 17MB95M
                  Panel: VES400UNDS-2D-NO3

When the set came in it was dead. Fuse was open primary side and the power mosfet was shorted. So I ordered a new power supply. Now it turns on, only displays "Hitachi" and then power off red and blue led flashing.

I had to modify the 0ohm resistors in the led backlight of the new PS like the original power supply.
Is there any variants on 17IPS71 power supply's?

Help finding the correct model of a T-Con board on my Hitachi TV
                  by sotodefonk
Hi, I have a Hitachi tv model L47V651, there is no image, but sound and backlights turn on, so I believe the issue is the tcon board.

I opened the tv to access the board and took the shared pictures of the T-Con board.

I saw a video from shopjimmy on how to detect the model number on tcon boards, but this doesn't have a sticker like how that video showed all boards.

I searched the P/N number and got results with the same marking name and P/N my board has but they list other specific tv models like Vizio and Philips brand but not Hitachi.

                  Inspecting...
