I want to start doing more SMD projects and would like to buy a rework station that is $200 or under. If you could, please let me know what you like and dislike about your suggestion (if you own one). Thanks a bunch,
Re: Can anyone suggest a rework station <= $200
Here's mine. A very useful tool, I use it as much for smd work as i do removing phone and tablet screens. It's a copy of an Ayoue i believe. I am happy with it.
In hindsight i'd have saved some money and just bought a similar machine but without the soldering iron and thus saved some money.
Good day.
i received used bga rework station wds-580 which was not going above 300c despite the parameter was set to 350c, Everytime beeps at 300c so i did a factory reset and by mistake washed data and log etc. now the station boots to a white screen.
Does anyone has a firmware for this station and want to share with me. i will really appreciate any help possible..

1. Firstly is the IR6500 any good for BGA rework or should I be spending my money on a better one.
2. The instruction manual is pretty useless on explaining how to set the PID loops (no information at all!!) both top and bottom heater for th Kp, Ki and Kd...
