Would this Oscilloscope be any good? :)

Hi guys. I'm looking at buying my first oscilloscope, and wondering if this would be any good?

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Hantek-4C...815588b&_uhb=1

Or else if you had some other recommendations?

    Thanks guys!!

There are many pages of discussion about the Hantek scopes on the EEVblog site, many by people who have actually used these scopes. Go read them. There are also tons of threads by people asking "Which oscilloscope should I buy". Go read those, too.

It's very good but much better value for money is Rigol DS1054Z or DS1074Z IMHO.

I second that. And with both Rigol's you can freely unlock them to 100MHz and enable all the Options: http://riglol.3owl.com/
I have a DS1074Z here on the desk.

And if you really want something better quality, than you go very fast over $1000,- for an new Agilent or Hameg.

Edit: You're in Europe so good chance you can buy the Rigol's from here: http://batronix.com/shop/rigol/DS1000Z.html

I have the *cough* DS1074Z with all options plus 100MHz. Serial decode is incredibly useful...
For the price, nothing beats it. Incredible value for money. A few bugs, none serious.

Re: Would this Oscilloscope be any good?

I have just ordered a Rigol DS1074Z after looking over heaps of different online reviews. It seems to offer the most bang for buck, especially since the hardware and options can be "upgraded" as Clutchbox & Tom66 say.

Should get it within a few days so I will let you know how I do with it. Bear in mind, my first oscilloscope is a Hantek 6022BE, so I'm no scope expert. It's not a bad scope, but my god the software is so buggy and crashy! I got by with it though.
If I broke it, it was only AU$65. Good and portable for testing automotive stuff connected to a netbook though, that's all I use it for these days.

            But I digress...
Getting back to your question, my question to you is, what are you going to use it for primarily? Will you use the logic analyser/waveform generator part of that scope you provided the link for?

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
                by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

Lenovo y520-15ikbm most of the time doesn't turn on

                Hello,

I've repaired a few laptops in my life but this time my own laptop died😂.
Funny enough this one is a bit tough on me.
It doesn't turn on (most of the time).
                Model: Lenovo y520-15ikbm (NM-391).

The only way to make it turn on is:
                1) unplug battery + charger + rtc (seems irrelevant)
                2) wait a minute
                3) plug battery/charger in
                4) on charger plugin, laptop turns on by itself. On battery plugin you have to press power button. Sometimes nothing happens and you have to try again.
                5) when it turns on it also displays POST...

                by ferah831208
Hello guys, i need help with this problem, I have a NM-D041 mobo, it came with low impedance in 3v linear regulator rail, the cause was a damaged EC controller ITE8227e-192. I ordered a new one and replaced it. This laptop have a different chip for keyboard management and it8227e pins for programming ITE chips are not accesible through keyboard interface, I flashed it using i2c interface pins with vertyanov programmer because laptop was dead and SPI flash didn't have power (only 3v EC) so it couldn't access firmware stored in SPI memory. I read SPI and extracted it8227 firmware from original BIOS...

Good brands of run capacitor for house heat hump
                by cook
Are there good brands for 'run capacitors' or 'start capacitors' that are used on electric motors or heat pump compressors? ... r are the good capacitor brands for electronics (power supplies, laptops, motherboards, etc.) also the good brands for run capacitors?
Yeah I know this might be a novice question, but I just wanted to be sure. I did do a search on the forum but did not see this question asked before.

                Thanks

                Good guys.
I have this problem with this Dell notebook, it has that distortion on the screen as you can see in the photo. has it ever happened to you?

I present the tests and measurements that I already did:

I tried with another screen and it does the same thing, I also put this screen on another one and it looks perfect.

I checked the LVDS flex that goes to the display and it is perfect
Through HDMI output the image looks perfect

                All power lines were measured...
