Advice, Tips, Help, Tricks, Profiles for Bauer v4/v5??

Hey guys, I just purchased a new Bauer IR PRO SCC V5 BGA rework station. Yes, A v5, it's a prototype from the factory and it has not gone into mass production yet, Bauer hasn't even announced or mentioned anything about it at all, I'm a lucky lil' tester Anyways, it's pretty much the exact same as the v4 except they removed the vacuum pump, and the laser power switch (For some reason.. It's kind of a problem because I can't turn it on, lol.) The wiring and electrical has been overhauled, pretty much re-designed on the inside. Otherwise everything else is the same as v4. So, since I have no background on Bauers other than knowing they are built like tanks, I'm looking for some info on them. Feel free to share some experiences you've had with v4's or maybe v5. I want to know as much as I can about it, I'd like to hear any tricks, tips, advice, stories, and profiles you guys have on the Bauer v4 (or 5). I primarily rework Xbox 360 consoles and would like to get some good profiles for them as well. Thanks guys!

Its still made in China, but i will admit the newer ACHI units and other brands have come along way

They actually use temperature resistant wiring among other things

My advice right off the bat would be too toss those heaters and replace them with elstein brand

Yes. Chinese made and all the crap behind it that its european design is all BS. Your machine is the same as the LY IR PRO SC (built by the same factory, with some slight changes to confuse people), The Achi IR Pro SC, and the Scotle IR PRO SC, you just pay more for the Bauer.

So anything you find for these machines you could use to help you.

Lol, so funny but all true

The heaters are infrapara, but sometimes they put Bauer on them

Soldering flex cable - tips & tricks
            by Prott
            Hello fellow badcappers,
I have to solder a MacBook (A1708) screen flex - one of the two data flexes got slightly torn (2 broken traces). I've seen some videos on youtube where people scrub the coating and then simply apply flux and solder to the exposed copper traces (and then run a jumper wire). However no matter what I try the copper does not take the solder at all - the more flux I add the more it actually stays only on the iron itself.

I am practicing on a spare flex cable and it's gettiing quite annoying - to a point I am actually thinking I have to be doing something...

2004/05 AGP GPUs: Repair Tips and Tricks
            by SapientLion
            Hello, everyone!

This is my first actual post on this forum. I don't know anyone here nor have any knowledge on proper etiquette that is supposed to be applied here... So, bear with me and my mistakes. I'll try my best. Regardless, here's my story.

A few days ago, i discovered and managed to purchase two AGP x8 GPUs (ASUS Extreme N6600 [NVIDIA GeForce 6600] and ASUS AX1650PRO AGP [ATI Radeon X1650 Pro] ), from a trusted seller, for dirt cheap, which were released way back in 2004/05. They were primarily used for graphics design and 3D modelling. As far as know,...

Blown capacitor repair on MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT MECH OC
            by MeetingIncapable
            Hello,

I am new to repairing computer electronics, so excuse any mistakes I make.

A friend of mine had a broken graphics card (MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT MECH OC) and gave it to me. It does not power on or show any signs of life.
I identified what looks like the remains of a blown capacitor at the bottom of the board (see picture).

I wanted to replace the capacitor, but I have two questions:
            • Does this repair have a chance of working? or is a blown capacitor a sign something else is wrong?
            • How do I determine the rating/value of this capacitor? or something
