I'm looking to purchase an affordable hot air station, seeing that I don't own anything other than a big hot air gun and my rework station is IR. I really don't want to spend more than $150, max $200 (and that's pushing it). I was looking at the Aoyue 968A+ because it also has a soldering iron that takes the same tips as my current soldering station. Thought it would be nice to have an additional soldering station with a different to have a different tip in the event that I want to go from say a knife to a fine tip or something like that. Anyways, do any of you guys own this or own a Aoyue product similar to this, and would you recommend it? I have looked at the reviews on this station and everyone seems to like it but normally people post reviews the day or week they get it and a month down the road there happens to be a problem. So, if anyone has owned a Aoyue product for a period of time I would love to know your honest opinion on it. Thanks in advanced guys!!!!

by sam_sam_samI have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails
I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time... -

Any reply would be appreciated. -
by capriderHey,
I'm looking for some recommendations of a decent quality soldering station and a separate hot air station. I'm just a hobbyist, so even if (ultra)premium tools are not required, I still want some good tools. They should be available in Europe.
I now have a TS100 and some soldering irons and looking for some better tools.
1. Soldering station, budget around 200-240€
JBC BT-2BWA seems to be a good product in the budget.
2. Hot air station, budget around 200€
Up to now I've found ATTEN ST-862D to be a good option.... -
by Peter_1402Hi Everyone,
I bought a Yihua 992DA+ hot air gun and soldering iron unit from a used market.
1. Soldering iron works great
2. There is a burnt mark on the hot air gun handle.
I am a bit concern by the look of the melted plastic. I opened the hot air gun handle and took some readings with a multimeter.
Heating element ~ 75ohm. (Similar reading taken from a spare heating element that came with the unit.)
Thermocouple ~ 1.5ohm. (Similar reading from the spare heating element.)
Reed switch tested ok with a magnet.
From the above test, I can conclude... -
by deep000Hi,
I'm looking to get on Aliexpress a hot air soldering station for hobby use, nothing too fancy, just something "reliable" and budget-friendly.
Any recommendations for a "good" cheap one that gets the job done?
Thanks in advance - Loading...
