MFD10 Not working right

It's out of warranty, of course... I'm getting inconsistent readings from it. Reading the same cap, a 470uF, gives me 945, 384, 489, etc when switched to the 10-10,000 setting. I assume that's in microfarads, I can't find any explanation that's clear.

Nevermind. I found the problem. On large caps, you have to PRESS AND HOLD for 5 to 10 seconds for it to work. Nowhere does the manual state that.
