    Led Backlight Stacking Repair Video

Here is the Led Stacking aka Flocko-Budm repair for Led backlights. Hope this helps as its easier for people who dont have a hot air station.

Also before anyone moans, yes the solder I was using had some very nasty flux in it but this was cleaned off properly and even if it wasn't the Tv simply wont last that long for it even to start corroding anything as its a total POS.

Another good video. My led set for the 50" insignia should arrive Wednesday. I might do this instead of replacing all of them or a whole strip.
Is the silicone thermal plaster a British thing? I've never heard of it. I wonder if it's what we simply call silicone caulking?

I use KAPTON tape on top of the old pads just to be sure the new board will not short out the old pads.

Good video, I just remove the old LED with pliers twist off and clean up with a craft knife and use twin-stick tape. What I must point out is always try to use the same style LED and lens that is already fitted to your strip, or you will not get the best result and an even light output. as the LEDs are not all the same some of the big LG Innotek LED/lens run at 6v

Cheers think its almost the same, I use it to secure the Led and it can also help transfer heat to the original strip.

I seen, lol I ran out of that and sort of find it better to use silicon plaster

Got a 40" Toshiba Led Tv same fault to do later on or tomorrow, unsure if I will do this method as the Leds in the panel (Ves400) are very close together. Might do a video.

as its 45 minute i would say its nice movie, not as video.. appreciated it , but this repair method not allowed in EU, you will be charge of fined if owner had issue with it. LED are life circular hours life, and as its original, mean the rest will be blow up soon or later. to me just replace the defect on with new one, and if any other failed later or will be not my response

look i had 3 from new strip i used for 3 sets.

Cheers Also dont think there are any regs over this type of repair. I have some if them Leds on order from China.

Be nice to see if the china leds work, i have saw them advertised but some people say they shine slightly yellow in colour/diffrent brightness i guess its trial and error untill you find the correct ones.

Yeah some of them if you dont check carefully (current and reverse voltage wise) the colour rendition is different to the originals and might be slightly noticeable.

Its a Vestel with the same Leds as in the video and they are the same voltage etc.

I tried some of those LEDs....

They made bright Yellow Splodges on the screen--Even though supposed to be 8000k LED's

Completely useless! Got 200 of em--Anyone want 'em!

Gone back to cutting up old strips and sticking in place of originals--'legal' or not!!
--You'll be saying you cant use leaded solder next!....
