vizio vp322 powers on but weird pixelation

I picked up this tv for free
The lady was going to throw it in the trash

I read previous posts on this model tv but nothing comes close to what im experiencing unless I misread something

Anyways when I press the power button(no remote control) it powers up, psu clicks, tcon lights up and ysus turns on with a noticable buzzing noize.
No logo shows up on the screen then this weird blue pixelation is going on.
I hope the panel isnt defective

I checked the fuses on the psu and they are good
    No visible faulty caps
The y-sus board fuse is good

    Here are the voltage readings
Connector on psu going to ysus board
    Va 59.6v
    Vs 190.4
    5.05v

Connector on psu to main board
    5.08v
    12.11v
    16.41v

After the tv has been on for a few minutes some of the blue pixels have disappeared. Not sure if this is good or bad

The 7th and 10th picture are blue pixels just like the 6th picture. The lighting in my room caused a different color but its blue

So what else should I test?

Re: vizio vp322 powers on but weird pixelation

You need to find the voltage test points on the Ysus and xmain and see what they are. There is a sticker on the panel telling you all these voltages can you post a photo of that?

I did its pic number 11

And I tested the voltages at the connector

You are missing VZB, the test point is on the Ysus the arrow points to the leg of a resistor. VSC is also on the Ysus he test point is below a large red capacitor.

I believe the way this plasma is designed is the x and y are on the same board, smallest plasma made in the states as far as I know.

I have only got to play with one, never had the chance to own one to tinker with.

Yeah, VSC should be -185 and VZB 140 as per sticker spec. You got a bad y/x board. Lucky for you these are cheap.

Match your Ysus part number here and your are set.

Just to be 100% sure let's try the test patterns, ok on your controller board you will see 3 copper ring holes near the bottom right of the board.

With the TV off and the LVDS unplugged from the controller board jump R241 and R211 with a jumper wire and plug in the TV and tell us what you see on the screen.

LVDS cable connects the mainboard to the controller board.

Ok I jumpered the board like you said

I got several patterns with different colors but the patterns are distorted like the pictures I posted before of the blue pixelation

The paterns would go vertical and horizontal

Question, the longer you keep this unit on does the dark splotches start to go away?

if you look at my first post pictures number 6 and 7 are when i frist powered the tv

picture number 10 is after the tv has been on for more then 10minutes

so yes the blue pixels spots go away but not all

i hope i am making sense

Also while you have your TV apart I would replace the 2 3300uf Caps on the power supply and the 470v as the caps for spots C205 C241 and C236 (cannot remember their values) these are located near the plug going to the mainboard.

The will fail they are the other cause of these little plasma panels failures on the power supply.

So I should replace all the caps in the red circle right?

And I should also order the ysus board right?

Sure, those are them. This looks like a sustain failure if it was mine I would take a chance for 20.00 +ship, these are cool little 720p tvs.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

I have a Vizio D32f-E1 LCD TV that does NOT have a TCON board.

This TV recently went through some 'death throes' and now won't boot. The first problem that began to manifest was while watching tv, the screen would 'freeze', and the image would dim over a few seconds until it was very dark. HOWEVER, the audio of the show would continue as normal. I could power off the TV for 5-20 seconds, power back on, and the video would be normal. This would occur 1-3 times when the TV was first started, and would not happen again after the TV was 'warmed up'. Not ideal, but this glitch was manageable....

Vizio E320-A1 Powers on But No Display

                                          Hi All,

I have a Vizio E320-A1 which lost sound and picture. The power LED comes on and stays on but nothing else works. I am not able to power it off unless I unplug it.

Here are the voltages when the power is on

                                          1 - 5.25
                                          2 - 5.25
                                          3 - 0
                                          4 - 4.8
                                          5 - 25
                                          6 - 25
                                          7 - 0
                                          8 - 0
                                          9 - 0
                                          10 - 12
                                          11 - 12
                                          12 - .9
                                          13 - .5

Can someone let me know if the issue is with the mainboard?

                                          Thanks...

Vizio M60-C3 powers on, perfect logo, turns off. If you don't touch anything it will repeat this process by itself until it is unplugged. Not the "button board" since I disconnected the cables to the main board and the problem persisted. So I'm fairly positive something is going on with the main board, but want to know if there is a fix for this other than replacing the expensive mainboard, which may eventually have the same problem. Also, heat sink was hot as hell when this all started. Unplugged for a few days and same thing happens.

My kids are getting antsy waiting...
