    MSI K9A2VM Poly-Mod

I got my hands on one of these boards. there's a similar one here (http://static.kupindoslike.com/MSI-K..._O_3013614.jpg). My one came with mostly TK Caps (with the exception of panny FLs on the VRM High side). None were bulged, but I thought it would be a fun experiment. Here's what I used

330uF 16V Fujitsu on the VRM High
820uF 2.5V Nich LF on the VRM Low
820uF 2.5V Fujitsu on the Chipset VRM
560uF 4V NCC PSA on the RAM VRM (note that there were only 2 1800uF caps there originally, with a blank spot for a 3rd one. I filled the blank spot up)
470uF 6.3V OS-CON SPEC on some of the USB filtering (others I left with NCC KY Lytics)
    1000uF 6.3V Nichicon FPCAP L8 everywhere else

The board has been going in memtest now overnight, with no errors yet.

Nice, it looks great!!! What CPU do you have under there?

Are you going to memtest it with all the RAM slots filled to see how it does with all of them populated?

That's what I'm doing now. I have four 1GB modules in there for the memtesting, and a Phenom 9750 Quad core CPU. I took those pics when I was just making sure it would POST and not go up in smoke.

CH341a can erase and read but can't write and blank check
        by hasel17
So I am trying to repair broken thunderbolt FW on X1 Yoga Gen 2. The EEPROM chip is WINBOND 25Q80DVNIG. I already do a back-up and erase. But when I try to wrote new FW, it was successfull, but when I tried to read it, it still blank. when I try to do a blank check, it gave me instant error in address 0. I already tried two CH341A, already did the 3.3v fix mod, using AsProgrammer, NeoProgrammer, Colibri, and CH341A 1.29. But the problem still occurred. What I did wrong here? Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance. Here is the log in Colibri :

        Hanns.G Hi221 Monitor - Works For A Second & Then Blank Display
        by RetroComputingGrotto
I've got a Hanns.G Hi221 Monitor that works for a moment and then the display goes off but the power LED indicator remains on. If you power it off and back on again it does the same thing, it comes on and then the display goes blank. From a cold start it takes 10 seconds or so before the display goes blank but if you turn it off and then back on again after it already being on it goes blank a lot quicker so I'm assuming something is getting hot which is causing the display to go off.

I've uploaded a video of it happening on YouTube:

        I've taken the monitor...

Reverse engineering of DoCreate DHJ567 handheld spot welder
        by spleenharvester
        Hello everyone

I attach a schematic and teardown photos for the DoCreate DHJ567 handheld spot welder. I bought this welder for temporary use while my supercapacitor welder was waiting for replacement parts. It cost only £24, though there is a screenless version available for £17.

Performance: The absolute maximum it can handle appears to be 0.15mm of pure nickel. Reliability was not great - welds were very inconsistent, ranging from weak attachment to burning through the strip. However, I was able to build a 5S2P pack without losing any cells. It's a bit difficult getting...

ASUS VH238T blank screen with backlight
        by Spoonicks
        Hello,

        I am having a problem with a ASUS VH238T.
The monitor started by just going blank, but the integrated speakers, and the backlight worked. The OSD didn't pop up, neither did the messages of DVI No Signal, nor the Asus logo.
Turning off the monitor, and turning it back on made no difference. But leaving the monitor off for a few hours returned the monitor back to normal. The problem will eventually return after a couple of hours.

Today, it started exhibiting another symptom: the display started showing a white image, that didn't take the whole screen....
