There was a little controversy over in the megathread on that. After a couple clear, close-up pictures; it was determined to definitely be an "M".

I'll attach one here. The guy only used 85C replacement caps though

I think I found the fuse you need at digikey. Besides the rating, the size on these is also important. http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...9-1-ND/2870082

thanks i take look at your post more closely. Do you have the link to the "megathread" you mentioned?

            thanks again.

              You're welcome. Here's a link to the megathread. https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...hlight=AL2416W

The "M" fuse is actually a 1.25A but most people use the 1.5A that I have seen. Plus its easier to find.
I'll post a picture of the "W" (4A) fuse and you can see that the ends of the letter tilt outward. You definitely want to use the 1.5A

1.5A rarting seems to be low for inverter for 24" monitor. I would set your DMM to DC 10A scale and put the probe (does not matter on the color of the probes) of the meter on the two pads of the blown fuse to measure the current drawn by the circuit, then just double that reading, make sure to set the brightness to the max setting so you can see the max current draw. Best way to secure the connection of the probe is to solder wires to the pad and use the alligator clips on the probes for connection to the wires.

I thought it was low myself Bud. Also considering the rating of the "M" fuse is actually 1.25A.

I like your method of finding the actual rating for a fuse. I always learn something from you. Thanks for sharing all of your knowledge.

Thanks Lumberjack. By the way, he should verify that none of the power MOSFETs are shorted out.

I replaced the fuses on the inverter boards of both my 2416's with 1,5A types. I had some difficulty obtaining SMD types, so I used fuses in a resistor type casing instead. The wires on both ends made it quite easy to solder them in place, I just followed the PCB traces and soldered them to the respective components.
BTW: there are 3 fuses on the inverter board, so give the other ones a test as well. If you haven't done so already, that is.

Do yourself a big favor and take Budm's advice at heart: check if the mosfets are OK first. Your painstakingly soldered new fuse(s) won't last very long if one or more mosfets turn out to be shot after all. And if they indeed are kaputt, you'll have to replace all 10 electrolytic caps as well. Even if they are OK, it can't hurt to replace the caps anyway.

Those caps will look normal but can have high ESR, see example here:
