Flash mxic mx25l640E with Ch341 not recognized

Hello

Can anyone help me to identify why the programmer is recognized well without
Introducing the memory... but as soon as I
Put the (well soldered I think) chip in the programmer as in the picture the red led turns off and not recognized at all....

Think pin1 is well oriented

Soft supports the chip and programmer too.

Does it need a mod to 3.3v or this is nonsense?

I'm pretty Sure this one works with 3.3V. So what is left... replace the SPI Flash and See whether it helps.

You have inserted the board in the programmer wrongly. Pin 1 is in the opposite direction

The chip is on the PCB correctly but the PCB needs rotating 180 degrees.

Ok.. saddly rotated like this and does not work... placed ok, on 25L eproms area too... still red led turns off after plugin in usb ... so not detected.

You probably Killed that IC by inserting it in the wrong direction. I believe now you have No other choice than Order an replacement...

chip is: MX 25 L 640E ZN I 12 G

so it is:

8-WSON 8*6mm 64Mb and 3v

no need to do anything strange like 1.8v or 3.3 mod or void pin 8 and that stuff right?

Sephir0th placed back in board and seems to be operating fine because loading OS so do not think it is burned.. any other suggestion ...
Macbook a1466 3437 efi of my own. That is what i try to read and write

have you tried any other spi with the ch341 programmer ? your programmer may not be compatible.

Have you checked to see if you need the 3.3V mod https://www.chucknemeth.com/usb-devi.../3v-ch341a-mod .Its also worth resoldering all caps,resistors and pins on the CH341 chip.I have 3 of these and 2 were DOA.

EDIT: try it with some alternative software as well

Thks sametbey it may not be compatible then.. .. weird thing is that in the specs this memory is listed as compatible.

yes sametbey I have tried other spi with the ch341 programmer ,,,, i have just read mxic 25L8006E ok

thanks SMDFlea I m going to your post to analyse it ..but remember that have No LED after plugin so not a soft issue.
Will go 4 the 3.3 mod .thanks again

Mmmm really If I was succeeded with 25L8006E I wonder why should I do any mod.... they seem to required identical parameters (Volt) to be programmed,,,, maybe I soldered wrong to the board... i will try again. and post

I would just like to know WHY the ch341a red led turns off when inserting that specific 25L memory, like if it would shorted..... any other non 8wson works fine

ok finally red led ok, no short but sitll not detected and forced read only reads nulls,,,,,soft i tried AsProgrammer, CH341A Mini Programmer (Black Edition) By_NSC and colibri


end for now, if anyone have another suggestion thks

Maybe I meed an 1.8V adapter to flash this kind of 8WSON Mxic memory, is it?
but data sheet says 2.7 to 3.6 volt for read

ok finally worked fine!!!, forget all the stupid questions regarding mods and the 1.8v adapter since it is a 3.3 vol chip..
PROBLEM WAS : have not wson8 adapter so i had to manage the placement in the adapter that I have, and the CH341 detected the chip fine, read and write ok!!
