Samsung 50" Plasma PN50A450P1D vertical lines

Looking for help in solving this vertical line issue. TV was off for 4 days and first power up shows a group of vertical lines (Multiple colors) going up the right side of the panel.

From my quick reviews of the FAQ's and such it looks like it could be a simple repair but I am not sure. Before I take the TV down I would like to get a couple of possible solutions ready. I have access to DMM and other parts but am not that technical so any and all help is appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Rich

    Most probably is not repairable.

It's either a panel issue (not at all uncommon for this Samsung model), poorly-seated connector on one of the address boards that run along the bottom of the panel in the vicinity of the defect, or a bad address board. It's hard to see the issue clearly in your pic because of the brightness, but I'd bank on a bad panel. My PN50A450 had vertical lines in a random pattern - bad panel.

Thank you for your feedback. Here is a closer picture of the vertical lines. You can still see an image through the lines and the color pattern repeats.

Does this help determine the potential problem?

        Thanks,

A repeating pattern is a little more lucky, it may be just loose connector. It is likely to be a bad plasma panel though.

Got the plasma down off the wall and took the back off. Checked and reset all ribbon cables and problem is still there. I notice that the main logic board feeds both E.F buffers with a 60 pin ribbon. Would I learn anything if I drove the E buffer with the signal meant for the F buffer?

My fears is that the panel is gone but I don't have the knowledge to know when to "Pull the Plug".

            Thanks again,
            Rich

Did you figure out what the problem was? I have the same problem.

Colorful LCD Vertical Lines on Samsung ue55es8090
                by Falki
Hello there, ive recently found an older 55inch Samsung SmartTV.
Sadly it has vertical lines at the left and one line in the middle-right.

I have already tested out the connections and have looked at the soldered ribbons of the LCD panel to see if some contacts got loose by pushing them a bit but with no success.
I have factory resetted the TV as well but also with no luck.

I am afraid that it is indeed a LCD Panel issue but there are NO scratches or any impact-marks..

A similar issue has been posted as well but also with no actual response ...

Samsung Plasma TV with vertical lines (model PN50B430P2D)
                by afex
This is my 2nd broken TV I'm trying to fix and haven't been able to figure out... currently going without any working TVs so am hoping to be able to fix one..

This Samsung PN50B430P2D Plasma has this big block of vertical lines which will fade in shortly after turning the TV on. The lines will sometimes flicker a bit or fade in/out and sometimes it just stays present. The length of time it takes them to appear varies, sometimes its a few minutes and other times it appears immediately after powering on.

I have attached an image of the TV with these bars displaying....

Friend of mine has a Samsung Plasma panel with some vertical lines that are starting to form on the screen.....Ive never worked on a plasma panel, so Im not sure what to look for, would this typically be a main board issue, or something else?

Any help would be appreciated.....Please let me know.......

                Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
                by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

I posted about this previously but didn't get any response, and I have some troubleshooted a bit so I have more info.

The screen is full of horizontal "gaps" or lines that distort the picture badly, and after about 10 seconds of powering it on the screen starts to fill with red vertical bars that take on the horizontal pattern. After the screen filled with the red bars, they instantly vanished and then slowly started to reappear. I initially thought it was tab bonding failure, but after getting down to them and pressing each one I find zero change in the picture. I went...
