Sharp LC-52SB55U powers on for 10 seconds then powers off

    hi

i was given a sharp lcd tv with cracked screen

owner said tv worked fine prior to screen cracked

i powered tv on and it powers on ok backlight on...and there is a picture through the cracked screen area and sound..and the osd works fine....but after about 10 seconds tv powers off and opc light flashes as well as power light

all i would like to know is i want to verify the boards on the tv are good or bad

can the cracked screen be causing the tv to shut down?...normally if a lcd tv has a cracked screen from my brief experience is tv will stay on and not shut off unless there are other faulty boards....but maybe in this case its a safety shutdown???

    any input?

Would probably have to look up fault code.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

understandable but can anyone tell me if a cracked screen would/could cause some tvs to power off after a few seconds?

or should the tv stay on as long as all boards are good?

      thats all im asking

Alienware 17 R3 (LA-C912P) Powers on then powers off after 4-6 seconds
          by ResoluteHawk
I have an Alienware 17 R3 (board is a C912P) that I recently starting trying to repair. Originally the issue was the charger going into protection mode when plugged in to the laptop. I found a short on the motherboard (one of the capacitors on the back of the board under the DRMOSes for the CPU) and the charger when plugged in now doesn't go into protection mode anymore. The laptop powers on, the lights on the keyboard, alien head, and alienware logo light up, and the fans spin. The issues are:

          1) The battery doesn't charge. I've probed the charger jack and it's only receiving 0.633v...

ASUS TUF 506 powers off after about 10 seconds due to heat
          by survivalbloke
This laptop come in with liquid damage. I located a couple areas on the board which honestly didn't look bad at all. I ISA them and cleaned up - can't even tell anything happened. However, when I power up the computer, it will shut off after about 10 seconds. I discovered it seemed like the fans weren't coming on because the board was getting mad hot right around the battery charging mosfets and coil. Anyhow, I checked under the thermal camera with just the power adapter connected but the machine off. I have marked what is warm at that time. Once I power it up, the coils near CPU vcore start heating...

Dell laptop powers up with kb backlight about 10 seconds, then shuts off
          by survivalbloke
I've got a Dell Latitude 5580 which came in for no power. It's not exactly a no power issue though. The battery was puffy so I replaced that, but the symptom is that when the power button is depressed, the keyboard backlights will come on for about 10 seconds then go back off. Before depressing power button, I am drawing 112ma and oddly, there is no change in current draw once the button is pressed and the keyboard backlights illuminate.

          Any ideas?

Anker SoundCore 2 Bluetooth Speaker Turns Off After a Few Seconds (Possibly Firmware Issue?)
          by zklgfs
          Hi,

I have an Anker SoundCore 2 (A3105) that I saved from the trash (well, I guess there's a reason why it was supposed to go into the trash...). The problem is that it always turns off after a few seconds (sometimes it stays on a bit longer, between 30 and 60 seconds, but it still turns off). The power light turns on and the bluetooth light starts blinking, but both abruptly turn off again. The "turn off sound" is still played after the lights turn off. Sometimes, it also loops the on-off cycle several times without me pressing any buttons. If I connect an AUX cable, music...

Lenovo Legion 5 high fan spin turns off after 34 seconds
          by twonk9098
          Hi all,

I have a Lenovo Legion 5 with a Ryzen 7 series CPU and RTX 3070 GPU. My issue is that it turns on and all seems fine except after a few seconds the fans spin up high and the laptop turns off after 34 seconds.
I can get into bios and can even boot and login to Windows however after 34 seconds no matter if Im at the bios screen or booted into Windows it will just turn off.

I have managed to run HWmonitor and the temperatures of the CPU and GPU are fine, I can also touch the heatsync which is warm but not hot.

I have tried a few new bios but exactly...
